Book Fool's game Fool s Game has several aspects that are connected to Roses in Ecuador which I really liked We meet a few characters from Roses and find out what happened to them after the events of that book But this one follows Cat and Cody two agents with a heavy past who are made to work together on a risky mission Old feelings return and new ones are created Cat and Cody both discover themselves as well as each other over the course of the novel and the character growth is really admirable. Book Fool's gamer I love every single heroine that Heather creates I don t know how she does it They re all so strong and willful but so unique in their own way Cat is no exception She gave up her old identity along with her brother and her best friend and they now dedicate themselves to well fight the bad guys The thing I admire most about Cat is how she can hold her emotions in check while she s on a mission Being so near Cody and having to interact with him Cat seems so nonchalant while in fact I can t even imagine what she s going through inside She s keeping a huge secret from Cody something that affects both of them and she manages to keep it secret the entire time Of course Cody has to find out through someone else but that s another story Even though Cat and Cody both seem like they can t stand each other the reality is completely opposite. Fool's gambit chess In Roses in Ecuador Cody tells Rachel that there was a girl he loved but she hates him now While reading Fool s Game I realized that the girl he referred to was Cat And I began rooting for them with all my heart Heather creates the most amazing relationships in her books and you can t help but love them Cat and Cody start out hating each other wanting to avoid each other at all costs Then they start getting along and finally they fall for each other all over again It s really beautiful seeing their relationship develop. Fool's gambit chess But Fool s Game isn t just romance No as I mentioned there s so much suspense in it And loads of action Reading this book was like watching an action movie playing in my head it was so incredible The characters are all so believable so relatable I feel like reading this one all over again because it s so well crafted Some scenes had me at the edge of my seat some had me smiling in amusement and some left me reeling with shock The amount of emotions you ll feel while reading this book is huge And definitely worth it I would recommend this book to all the romance lovers out there as well as the action and suspense seekers There s stuff in here for all of you and I have no doubt you will be satisfied Thank you to Sophie Weeks for providing me with an ARC for review Romance Fiction Mystery Cody awoke from the dream calling Caitlyn. Book Fool's game I didn t like that Cat spent so much time crying I just didn t see her a kick ass black ops agent acting like a cry baby She could be vulnerable and feminine without crying at the drop of a hat She does have a do what I must do attitude and comes through in times of crisis. Fool's gambit chess The characters in this novel are quite well developed They were also enjoyable individuals who remain normal in the face of rather atypical professions and circumstances This cast of characters definitely sets the tone and pace of the novel quite uniquely and makes it very easy to immerse yourself in As a whole this was a great fast paced read with a little bit of everything I d definitely recommend it Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review Romance Fiction Mystery Fast paced and full of suspense humor and dynamic characters I devoured this book Heather Huffman has an engaging style that sucks the reader into the story and places you right beside the characters throughout the book Cat is the strongest main female character I ve come across in a very long time I mean she s the leader of a black ops team for crying out loud Can t get much stronger than that Cody the main male character is definitely an alpha He is also strong enough and secure enough to let Cat lead during the ops only stepping in when he is asked to In their personal life Not so much Cat and Cody have a history that unfolds throughout the book There are secrets that neither of them have shared but definitely should have They ve been dancing around one another for six years and it s time to stop This mission puts it all on the line on a personal and professional level Their story is set in international espionage and intrigue involving an undercover black ops team drug cartels and the leader of the free world who may or may not be playing them all Cat is the leader of her team Cody is the playboy senator and was integral in putting together the team Can they get past their past and give themselves a future The supporting characters of this book are fantastic I love Jack Cat s brother and Ella Cat s BFF They all grew up together and when the chance to be their own team came they took it Then there s Galloway Who s side is he on anyway The dialogue between characters is laugh out loud humorous and the banter is easy going It also makes you want to tear your hair out in frustration because no one can communicate Or at least isn t willing to because they re afraid to lay it on the line and take risks Yeah that would be dialogue between Cat and Cody When will they wake up to what everyone else already knows Romance Fiction Mystery Not my cup of tea I received this book from the publisher as an early reviewer book It s not a book that I would pick up at a book store but I wanted to read it and give an honest assessment I did manage to finish it but I must admit that I skimmed through a lot of pages The book is very simplistically written and the characters are not realistic but very wooden and robotic None of them display any real personality traits and even the sex scenes of which there are many in this little book seem contrived and improbable The book is supposed to be an espionage tale with a strong romantic element Instead it comes off as very soft in all aspects I even found gramatical errors in it It may be a book designed for younger readers but I wouldn t like them to be exposed to the sexual scenes in the book even though they are not graphically written I can t recommend this book Romance Fiction Mystery
If you are a fan of Heather Huffman you ll like this one It is fun to see characters show up in different books There is the same combination of romance suspense and humor that we have come to expect I did have a bit of trouble getting into this one at first I didn t really understand the characters I didn t get what happened between them and what was keeping them apart Things eventually become clear although I still don t really get Cody I liked seeing Cat in action Fun action filled romance with suspense Romance Fiction Mystery Review also at s Game has the perfect blend of espionage action and romance to be considered for the next 007 film with Cat in the role of the Alpha female I have made no secret about enjoying books which have a strong lead woman with a heart and Caitlyn O Rourke is exactly that Cat has focus a skill set and knowledge most spies would kill for she is ruthless and knows how to use her beauty to her advantage but she is in love she is just afraid to admit it Heather Huffman balances Cat s strength and seriousness with Ella s fun and ditziness They are like the yin and yang of the spy world.
Fool's gambit chess Although the plot is far removed from my reality I loved spending time with these characters whether they were in action or romance mode Heather Huffman does threaten her reader with a love triangle BOO but it seems she saw sense and gives us a good old fashioned relationshipFool s Game is easy to read the characters are fun with a dry wit the story is passionate and exciting and it is definitely one I would recommend Romance Fiction Mystery From the first chapter of Throwaway the first book of Heather Huffman s that I read she has held me captive with her writing Fool s Game did not disappoint.
Fool's Game booker The story pulled me in the the first time I read it as an Advance Reader Copy The second read through after its release held me captive just the same Even though I knew what happened I still found myself up far too late because I could not put it down Suspense humor love and lust friendship and deeper issues make this book gripping.
