This was an unexpectedly great book The author wove together the problems in South Africa with those in America that deal with the drug cartels Pieter Durant is the lead character whose life and dreams are put on hold as he helps his American family get away from dangerous influences I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the next one in the series School of the Assassins Pieter Durant 1 Very GoodVery good story from beginning to the end Grabs your attention and doesn t let up You could see this happening for real School of the Assassins Pieter Durant 1 CaptivatingI had an acquaintance who was from South Africa who also was mercenary in the middle east He had a few stories that were similar School of the Assassins Pieter Durant 1 Should have read the reviews before I startedThis was a free book and lives up to you get what you pay for The story is disjointed the dialog is not realistic secondary characters are thrown in who don t advance the plot at all And the resolutions of two story lines are ridiculously unbelievable For those who gave this five and four stars even three for that matter I have no idea what they were reading School of the Assassins Pieter Durant 1 I go back and forth on whether this should be 3 or 4 stars On one hand I really like the story and the characters They feel real and still worthy of telling a story On the other hand I didn t really like the voice of the story Reading this felt like I was reading a bunch of really long newspaper articles not a book School of the Assassins Pieter Durant 1

School of assassins comic S after all the buildup left me saying What REALLY THIS just happened Don t get me wrong I was glad it happened I just didn t buy it 2 The depressed drug addicted vet cliche 3 Corporations are to blame for everything and I DO mean everything cliche 4 5 The South African part towards the end that served no purpose except to establish a few things that have already been established before I admit it did add to the tension but the word count could have been better used for the finale that was IMO too short. School of assassins book All in all the book is entertaining and thought provoking I read it obsessively and stayed up late at night to finish The reason I m feeling somewhat disappointed is because it could have been so much better I would definitely keep this author on my radar for the future.
