Book The Horn pattern In the end what I like about the story the most is that what happens is not just super creepy but it is unlike anything you might have thought of about each and every character and about the whole story in general I still get chills I have never seen it happened quite like this and this is why I really enjoyed this story and decided to up it five stars 251 disclosure i received an e galley of this novel from the independent book publishers association in exchange for an honest review. Fantasy The Horn pattern one of the best things about reading horn pattern by gretta hines is that you are never quite sure of your footing even something as simple as constantly referring to characters by a different name sometimes by first name.

And a constant level of what is happening here the only downside to the novel is the abrupt ending i was left wondering if perhaps another chapter or two weren t left out of my copy because all of a sudden it was over i m not a big fan of sudden cliff hanger type endings with no attempt at resolution perhaps we ll see of these characters in the future overall rating four out of five stars 251 This was honestly a well though out detailed book It is quirky and have its own style It has a lot depth to it than a lot of books out there these days I fell in love with Hines fun formal to informal writing style Many sections will catch you off Guard Its terrifying and gothic.

And isnt completely pure at heart from what you read It is very funny Odd eccentric descriptions like Hines was smoking pot while writing Overall i give it five stars for its honestly and bravery It does not follow the same mould as what we come to think of contemporary paranormal The last part left me wondering though I need to read the second book 251

I received this book free to review from Netgalley and I cannot even read it The writing is simply atrocious This is why self publishing can often be a big mistake 251 ARC for review Received this to review and I tried I really did I can count on one hand the number of times I ve abandoned a book.

Gretta Hines is a classical style writer from America She s been writing ever since she can remember and specializes in quirky horrors and dark fantasies All things creepy Her novels and books will be free for some time on starting in 4 8 months time so stay in touch. PDF The Horn patterned Some believe it s happening because of all the dark things we read And only the foolish would dare warn others Something is wrong Something is very wrong It s the horn pattern It s here Like a silent epidemic it is spreading throughout the globe with its shadowy fingers It s a little known cryptic thing but it can and will get anyone This is just nineteen year old Lorissa Vollist s story The Horn PatternThe narrative writing in this American horror mystery set in Canada is sympathetic to the young adult main character The high frequency of chocolate and sweetie brand names demonstrates expertise The story is influenced by manga especially the antagonists a manga story in words as it were. The Horn patternfinder cmlviz I enjoyed the dialogue and characterisation but grew tired of the imperfect writing There were numerous oddities and funny examples of unidiomatic language signs of an unpolished translation into English or a non native writer If you can try reading a page or two you may find the style charming or not. Book The Horn patterned The writing is a little too secretive identifying things obscurely by descriptive adjectives sometimes unexpectedly omitting the object s name entirely and lacking specific descriptions of significant items like the character s clothing outfits Popular clothing worn by most characters is named by a fashionable style but what specific clothes does that mean Is that a long or short skirt a petticoat a ladies umbrella The text rarely provides details of what particular characters are wearing. The Horn Pattern books The ending is a cliffhanger with little resolution You may want the next novel handy to save frustration 251 This book was funny and well written I thought it was a little hard to get into at first but soon it picked up It s about an outcast but doesn t have the same typical ending and twists that you d expect Gretta Hines writes a very intriguing character and makes me very glad I don t have that particular love of chocolate I find her coping mechanism quaint and a subject that most authors wouldn t actually touch So I d give this book a 4 out of 5 for being unpredictable and not too dry 251 Wow what a read I picked this book up last week and finished it in two days It was like a shot of vodka It might not be every ones cup of tea but for people who like quirky dark humor and creepy mysterious spirited with the dazzle and out of body experience of fantasy this is it First I picked this book up for the mixed ratings I wanted to see what different kind of stuff are out there Reading the reviews I see people either love it or hate it This book reads like a japanese horror movie script You have to pay attention to the story It is a plot of stories within stories that will keep you thinking First you are invited to a little scene in japan It takes place in mr hamada s house where you learn a japanese word or two The story of Lorissa starts with her living with her grandparents until she gets a mysterious note from her estranged father Tension rises quickly but from the reader looking in While things to Lorissa is okay the foreshadowing of Lorissa s doom is made very clear to us. The Horn Pattern booker The reader has an upper hand over Lorissa seeing the insidious reality of her father s invitation for her to come and visit him and re bond To go on the trip to see him seems fatal but dear lorissa does not see this Her old town is calling her and she takes her father s offer Yelidin is not like typical places but seem rather fairy tale like and alice in wonderland esque In the town Lorissa is clueless to the deadly darkness closing in on her sometimes only by last name sometimes both first and last name adds to this eerie sense of dislocation that rushes the reader through the story with an agonizing sense of expectation. Book The Horn patterned what if what we read or watch or listen to could begin to effect in a very tangible and identifiable way our reality what if the glimpse of the dark figure ghosting along behind us isn t just a shadow but a SHADOW what if the edges are blurring and it s all because of what we re doing in our everyday lives horn pattern opens up these questions and so many many it s written at a taut pace with believable if not likeable characters very romantic and senusal even sexual subliminal messages hidden within seemingly innocent dialogue The characters were real not cliche and very entertaining Lorissa is a nerdy girl with anxiety disorder perhaps She is loveable how she is so real and how the author does not try to make her come off innocent She has her own faults and demons but this is one of those times When reviewing books I try to mark any typographical or grammar errors just in case an editor would ask in order to clean up before publication About twenty pages in I realized I had marked nearly every page Nearly Every Single Page And most didn t appear to be typos but just poor use of English which for me takes me completely out of the story and in this case made what was meant to be horrible rather laughable instead When I got to the section which was to be the beginning of a Russian exchange student s diary and there was a warning that English wasn t her first language I knew I couldn t go on. PDF The Horn pattern it already appeared that English wasn t the first language of the narrator I know it is but sheesh Too bad the premise sounded intriguing 251 It is like watching a japanese anime Its very colourful and visual Hines shows you as much as she tells you with her very rich method of writing There are some slight grammatical errors but i did not penalize her as I think she s a self published author Lorissa is and this book is sort of WAY out there LOL Whacky kooky different But that s why I loved it I especially liked the feminine guys It can get very scary though like worse than stephen king sort of scary And a bit perverted But i am into those things haha 251 The plot and ideas for how the story progresses are unique while remaining interesting I liked how it didn t follow the same well worn path as other books in this genre I did not enjoy how the book was written however Unnecessary descriptions irrelevant information and plenty of mistakes thrown in Overall it was poorly written Even the supposed foreigner writing in English With a lot of polishing and a rewrite there is potential for a really good book 251 Scary 251 The Horn Pattern.
