Full review here The Blood List I like a good book about witches but this book was not I was seriously disappointed so much so that I could not see the point in this novel. The rare blood types list The characters felt flat and under developed and although Barnaby should have warranted sympathy from the reader no such emotion was elicited from this reader The remaining characters are equally flat and undeveloped thereby leaving very little to engage the reader except curiosity and the hope that something interesting will happen eventually. List the blood component The author had previously won an award But this reviewer feels that if the standard of that book was similar to this one.

But Naughton always manages to make the reader forget the date and get wrapped up in the plot and characters so well that I m certain most people would find something to hook them in The Blood List Ooh I loved this So close to crying at the end. The blood list pdf full text I found The Blood List by Sarah Naughton to be hugely interesting I don t read a lot of historical stories and certainly none like The Blood List in which it felt like there was this dark combination of historical elements with the paranormal I really wasn t sure where this story would go but I found it absolutely fascinating to be taken on this weird journey The main character of The Blood List is Barnaby Nightingale.

Site_link post a commentThis was an interesting book At times I was really wrapped up in the storyline and at other times I just wondered where it was going Altogether something easy to read but I wasn t overly taken with it in the end The Blood List While The Blood List wasn t really for me and I did struggle a little to read it as I felt it was a little slow in some parts of the book however on the plus side I did enjoy the concept and the overall direction the author was heading in with this book Again I stress that this book just wasn t for my personal taste which is totally fine by me because we can t love every book out there although don t let this review stop you because I can see many other readers enjoying this book as it does have a lot of interesting things happening throughout the storyline and through its characters Thanks the publisher on netgalley for providing me with a review copy of this book The Blood List A novel of two halves then the competition they faced was non existent The Blood List Sarah Naughton s written another brilliant Historical novel The Hanged Man was excellent last year This time the novel is set in 1600 s England at the time that the Witch trials began across the country. EPub The Blood list The characters are very well rounded and you can understand the psychology of each character really well a very hard thing to do in a book that s not especially long Some really good plot twists some excellent villains and I really thought that the scenes of the confessions and witch trails were brilliantly written showing how so many were forced tricked duped into confessing to such heinous and ludicrous acts. Diseases of the blood list I know that historical fiction isn t everyone s cup of tea a somewhat spoiled and privileged teenage boy in 1646 He spends a lot of his days napping and and generally having no responsibilities or obligations But things begin to change after Barnaby meets Naomi and his perspective and attitude towards life and everything changes 1646 is a time where superstition is rife and throughout this story Barnaby and this community are just on the edge of a dark time in which darkness takes hold It was really interesting to read of the practices and ideas surrounding fussy babies and proving how a baby s behaviour means that he might actually be a changeling amongst other superstitions What I loved about The Blood List is that Sarah Naughton provides both sides to the story the superstions as well as science and logic I also really loved the family dynamic in the Nightingale family Because of events surrounding Barnaby s birth Barnaby s parents have very different attitudes towards their eldest son and it causes a major rift between Barnaby and his younger brother that really propel the events of the story I thought everything between brothers and parent and son were done really well. Blood of kittens lists One of my favourite aspects of this book though is witnessing Barnaby s development from spoiled and slightly bratty at the beginning into somebody very different somebody who Naomi would be proud of Another aspect of the novel that really appealed to me was Naomi constantly putting Barnaby in his place which is both amusing and also highlights some gender and economic differences of the time All in all The Blood List was a hugely fascinating story It had great historical detail great characters and particularly great relationships It made me think of things in different ways I was horrified by so many different practices that happened at the time and there were bits of the ending that had me very close to tears I was so surprised by this book and I will definitely be on the lookout for Sarah Naughton s previous book I really recommend this book The Blood List Really good I liked it even than I like Sarah s previous book The Hanged Man Rises Review to come The Blood List It wasn t until I was 70% into this book that it occurred to me the magic witchy paranormal stuff wasn t happening because The Blood List is a historical novel I foolishly assumed the words witch and changeling meant a fantasy novel but that s not the case with The Blood List I think this made my enjoyment of the book suffer because I kept waiting for something that was never going to happen. The blood list pdf full text That said it s still a good historical novel The world building is immersing and flawless I really felt like I was in the 1500s living these lives with the characters Unfortunately they were lives I wasn t invested in I didn t care what happened to the characters Barnaby felt very one dimensional to me and Naomi never captured my love Juliet was my favourite and I still couldn t really care what happened to her Barnaby s parents were equally bland and infuriating. Cast of books of blood Another thing is the main events of this novel the witch trials Barnaby being sentenced to death those things start happening around 65% of the book So for the first 60% you re kind of floundering around wondering if anything is going to happen. List the blood vessels Plus points Brilliantly crafted historical settingEvents thoughts and speech that feel true to the time periodBad points Bland charactersNothing much happens it just drones alongDull love interest The Blood List Five out of five stars Full review coming soon The Blood List 1. The blood list pdf full text 5 stars ARC provided by Simon and Schuster Children s Books through Netgalley Frances was not a lovely girl which is why when her child is born small dark and hairy much like her she rebelled against her husband s family and servants who insisted the baby was a changeling who should be left in the woods in hopes that the fairies would return the true baby Unfortunately weakened by childbirth Frances was unable to stop them from taking her child But when she goes to retrieve the baby s body from the unforgiving cold of the woods another child is waiting in his place A plump rosy golden haired boy Not her boy. List the blood component This was a very compelling start I really felt for Frances married to a weak minded and weak willed husband who only cared for her riches her child taken from her and replaced by a stranger But we don t really follow Frances story We follow this golden child s Barnaby And the story was weaker for it. Kindle the blood list pdf Barnaby is not an interesting character You d think that with such a past there would be something compelling about him but no He is vain proud steals form the poor thinks ill of his parents is ungrateful tries to make girls fall in love with him for a lark and then feels guilty about everything he does wrong and then does it again What is the point of such character when he doesn t learn from his mistakes when there is very little growth to him throughout the entire story Then there is Naomi Naomi is a farmer s daughter who saved Barnaby from drowning an extraneous scene one among many in the book and then goes to work as a servant for his family Their relationship is barely developed since Barnaby is too busy being goaded into dares hunting and eating Naomi doesn t even seem to care much for him but apparently he cares enough to try and risk his life to save her from being charged of witchcraft. Diseases of the blood list There wasn t a single character in the whole book who was properly developed There is Frances who all but vanishes after the beginning showing up to scorn her usurper child and dote on her younger son There is Henry the weak husband and father who is fond of eating and drinking and dresses inappropriately There is Abel Barnaby s younger brother whose single motivation is jealousy and who attempts to destroy the lives of everyone he dislikes his brother s above all There are other clich s from stories set in medieval times But there is never much to them than what I wrote here. List the blood groups At 304 pages there should be a stronger plot There should be a solid mystery a point to the whole thing Instead the writing meanders through the daily lives of medieval merchants and servants There were countless scenes which made me pay my utmost attention because they were so trivial I was sure they would have a hidden significance later on in the story Not so If you are writing a book every detail should be there with a purpose If you go on to mention a path of berries a monstrous pike or a day long harvest by an inept merchant the reader will assume these are relevant to the plot and not just writing for the sake of writing The setting barely feels like the Middle Ages There are some stock references and the ever present mention of witches and curses there was to day to day life in the Middle Ages than that even though it would have been Renaissance by the date offered since it feels even less like Renaissance I m assuming the author was going for a Medieval feel. The blood list ebook free download As I mentioned there wasn t much of a plot There is a supposed changeling a jealous brother and accusations of witchcraft From that sentence alone you can guess the whole plot It s a pity because Naughton can write Wasted potential in an aimless book The Blood List
