Captivating A nice and surprising twist on a transgender story It is surprising and will keep you entertained The heroes struggle feels real so do the parents acceptance ore emotional fight The bullying is at a gentle level but a young teenager might need some guidance A Different Kind of Life Another great story from KL Another great story from one of my favorite authors A tastefully chaste but highly emotional book for YAs but even at 71 I loved it. A different kind of life book review A young boy Michel is forced by cancer to enter a genderless state and then has to decide at age 9 which direction to take her life as a boy or a girl A wealth of twists turns maintain a high level of enterest suspense I loved this book A Different Kind of Life Having never met a transgender person I think I was not familiar with the subject matter of this book The skill of the author was such that even though the story was rather predictable I kept on reading Even so for 9 year olds these children were exceptionally smart doing and saying things well beyond the limits of their age group I guess it had to be like that because of the physical conditions of growing up but it took away from the believability of the tale A Different Kind of Life I decided to re read this story and again I really enjoyed it The story could have been awkward but the author steered it through to a comfortable conclusion A Different Kind of Life
