I came to an awkward realization I REALLY am not fond of vampire stories This is one of those vampire stories where many of them are cruel to each other and vicious in manipulating mortals Add to that the awkward realization that this is actually part of a SERIAL and I had no clue about the first two books WARD OF THE VAMPIRE and MY RELUCTANT WARDEN Yep Just awkward I feel like a failure in my first outing on Kallysten s review team ack Please note Spoilers below You can read this as a standalone but it d be better NOT to do so I spent the first part of the novella thinking I was missing something well.
