As with the first 2 books in this series I am surprised I enjoyed it so much It s been a long time since my college days But Rachel O Brien is a brilliant funny loveable heroine and I have loved reading about her dysfunctional family in Ohio and her college roommates and adventures in North and South Carolina There are mysteries that tie this book with the first books but I think this one could be enjoyed as a stand alone story But the fun part for me has been getting to know Rachel from leaving home for the first time for her freshman year her frosh summer and now her sopho year As usual she finds herself in perilous circumstances and her nemesis Billy Ray is just as eager to exact vengeance upon her for ruining his illegal business Billy Ray s erstwhile partner Bubba may or may not redeem himself FBI agent Cauldwell continues to pop up to protect Rachel at mostly appropriate times and her roommates become closer friends in spite of all the drama over their various boyfriends I can t wait to read the next book about her summer in Europe with her grandmother GG whose existence was unknown to Rachel until this book Will Rachel s off the wall mother and her crazy girlfriend pop up unexpectedly mysteryintrigue attractive boys and best friends This is a must read for sure Shelled and Shucked The Rachael O Brien Chronicles 3 great book againI love these college mysteries set in The 1980s They are funny and nostalgic for me since I went to southern colleges and had interesting roommates and boyfriends Shelled and Shucked The Rachael O Brien Chronicles 3 I am really enjoying the Rachel O Brien Chronicles they have become quite my guilty pleasure and after reading this book I have already bought book number 4 I would advise other readers to read the previous books of the series before this one although there is much back story written into this book I do suspect if you haven t read the previous books you would struggle I enjoyed the story there was plenty of action with characters that I have grown to like over the series A good read that I would happily recommend Shelled and Shucked The Rachael O Brien Chronicles 3
