Angst I experienced a roller coaster of emotions but loved every minute Susan Lohrer writes down to earth normal people in an extra ordinary way You get sucked into the lives of the characters and find yourself rooting for them from the start Kat was feisty and strong in many ways but mis guided and insecure in others which made her very believable and real Evanphew What can I say about Evan The mental picture I had conjured in my mind made me want to get work done on my house DThe love scenes were of the closed door variety but it didn t stop you feeling passion between the characters involved. Over the edge north side menu cayman All in all it was a very quick read just because I couldn t put it down I had to know what was going to happen next And there was ALWAYS something happening We start off with Kat chained to Harvey the Douglas Fir and you would think that would be the craziest part but you would be wrong Such a charming story I received this ebook for free in exchange for an honest review 1939217741 This is really of just a straight up contemporary fiction novel then a romance In the first quarter the two people mentioned in the summary interact twice and have a bunch of confused feelings about the relationship they used to have while they run around trying to fix their professional personal lives but not love lives This book should also come with some trigger warnings with sexual abuse teacher student rape all of which is clearly going to be visited very early on all the clues are there and then Kat s big secret Lacey is her daughter not her sister and hasn t womaned up and told her even though she s 20 which has about a billion other little ones attached I mean really Also none of these characters seem to make rational decisions Let s spend 1800 on a goddamn bridesmaids dress when I can t really afford it and then immediately go rent a bigger apartment even though I just signed a lease for a small one that I can t really afford but I must try so I can try to dictate my sisters life even though there s no way in hell that s happening Like really You re late 30s early 40s Use your damn brain Evan seems a little better but not a lot. On the edge reddit I read a quarter of this knew what was going to happen skipped to the end and what do you know I was right The cover is extremely misleading as is the description I thought this would just be another try to make it work again romance and I don t mind things like Evan s mom s dementia rape when it s handled well don t know if it was here or not I skipped it yay we re all pregnant at the end because that s not weird or the let s see if we can make it work again trope but this literally tried to throw every possible cliche at these characters and it was ridiculous in a terrible way I don t even like them but I felt bad for them. Over the edge menu Also it pisses me off when pretty much all of the problems are because everyone is too immature to open their mouth and actually communicate with someone You love them but don t trust them Then WHY DO YOU WANT THEM IN YOUR LIFE Seriously people fucking communicate This is not a HEA romance novel although it pretends it is especially with the false saccharine ending I really can t believe it wraps up that neat after all the garbage that happens throughout The novel needed to pick what it wanted to be and stay there Too much happened to these people I wanted to like this and couldn t although I m sure others will I found the pacing slow and couldn t care about the characters Overall not for me.
