Five and a half tons pdf file A really enjoyable read Paperback Five and a Half Tons by John Bayliss This is the debut novel by John Bayliss featuring private detective Springer who would rather no one knew his first name as it does not fit with the tough image he would like to cultivate He yearns for a few rich clients and simple cases but in his hapless easy going way instead finds himself trapped at the heart of the action With a loan shark the police and assorted gangsters chasing him and out for revenge will he manage to convince anyone he is telling the truth Writing in a confident voice that is laconic easy going and disarmingly funny Bayliss has created a comfortable quirky character whose off beat humour is a delight The black and white pictures that accompany the text are a thoughtful addition and enhance the tale beautifully I look forward to reading the next in the series which I am promised is on the way I shall happily follow Springer to see what he gets up to next Thank you for a lovely read Fran Macilvey writer Trapped My Life With Cerebral Palsy Skyhorse 2014 Paperback
