BookMashaun awakes alone in a cold dark cave and quickly finds a natural hot spring and food readily available As he bask in the hot spring thinking how to improve his dream Mai the girl of his dreams walks in the room a little befuddled and cold They quickly learn that not everything is as it appears literally Searching the cave they find flip book like pictures embedded on a cave wall that shows the past present and future The flip book show a secret room and the capture of others like them realizing they must find the secret room or be captured also Little do they know that their next actions will begin a chain of events that starts the Thesila Prophecy. Thesila Prophecy booklet In the secret room Mashaun finds Dalistra an egotistical condescending female bow that uses his eyes and ears to experience the world while communicating telepathically Dalistra has Mashaun perform one action to prove his worth that ends up putting him on a collision course with Magdalenia the most well known and feared wizard in the area Mashaun ends up being the most unlikely leader not because he wants the job but because he knows what he wants and the rest just follow him The group just want to return home to the ones they left behind but the only way is to find the ancient city of Thesila before Magdalenia can complete her nefarious plans for Mashaun and Dalistra Thesila Prophecy The BeginningAn Intriguing Imaginative and Original FantasyTHESILA PROPHECY THE DISCOVERY by Robert M Rumble is unigue in several ways The story opens with people awakening in a magic cave chamber on a strange new world with a setting similar to medieval Europe The main character Mashuan finds a magic bow in the chamber It s a spirit weapon with a female personality named Dalistra She quickly became my favorite character as she often displays jealosy when Mashaun attracts other female attention Besides the native human population there are elves and a number of dangerous creatures for the characters to deal with as they set out on a journey to find the ancient city of Thesila. Book Thesila prophecy watchers The most unique feature of the story is that Rumble chose to write it in the present tense It is the first book I have ever read that uses this style storytellers normally choose the past tense to narrate their stories I personally believe that Rumble chose the present tense to convey the feeling that the dream story was unfolding right in front of the reader as if sharing the dream in real time It took a few chapters to get accustomed to the style however as are the descriptions of action scenes I enjoyed the story and recommend THESILA PROPHECY THE DISCOVERY to lovers of fantasy that want the experience of a dream quest with swords and sorcery and an enchanted bow on a magical world 148362837X
