Mark Baker a troubled teenager from a broken home decided to take an innocent spring break vacation with his friends to a mystical island Little did Mark know taking this trip would change his life forever After being bit by a winged merman half vampire half merman Mark has no choice but to turn into a winged merman himself and adapt to his new life Everything seemed to be going great until truths started pouring out as to why Mark was bitten in the first place Can Mark unravel the mystery himself Or will someone from his past do it for him This book is filled with mermaids with magical powers vampires pirates mystical creatures bat winged fairies and enormous color changing seagulls and much Pyrok Mermaid Tales So first off grammatical errors are a pet peeve of mine This book had oodles of them I would strongly suggest a better editor next time around I liked that they tried something new with the mermaid world and the fun creatures but everything kind of felt like something that had been done before or just combining two things that we have already heard about into something new I didn t love it but it was interesting and kept me reading until the end Danielle Martell eh. Pyroklastika not badSo I gave this book a rating of two stars because overall the idea is great but the storytelling is not good I just felt that there was no connection with the characters and the flow of the story was not smooth Sorry but wouldn t recommend this book to anyone 15% of me does want to know what happens next Danielle Martell
