Honor pride and prejudice epub online 5 stars my lower rating is due to the writing story versus the plot as it seems abrupt with basic sentence structure It got better as the book progressed but it was the plot that kept me reading on In this version of Pride and Prejudice Darcy tells Elizbaeth about the type of man Wickham is at the Netherfield ball As Darcy is so distracted by this conversation he doesn t overhear Mrs Bennets confidence in an engagement with Bingley and his 1000 pounds and thus is unprepared for Bingleys proposal the next morning before they leave for London Thus the story continues during the duration of Bingley and Jane s courtship which is why they return from London quickly and Darcy has decided in his heart for Elizabeth Although Elizabeth is slowly getting to know the real Darcy she is cautious in taking her time to open her heart to him and thus keeps Darcy dangling uncertain of his success and determined to be polite to the Bennets By the time Elizabeth agrees to a secret courtship frustrations rise and it seems as though she will never back down from an argument with Darcy So many times in this book I wanted to throttle Elizabeth to make her realize that she does love Darcy Their experience in London proves that but the experience at Rosings was practically heartbreaking As in the original there are misunderstandings Wickhams scheming pestering Mr Collins Lady Catherine s displeasure and Ludias elopement that will put on a strain on Elizabeths emotions towards Darcy The path to their love is difficult but it will prove successful in the end between these 2 beloved characters Honor Pride and Prejudice I began this kindle book and put it down Read several other JAFF stories Began again as I always finish what I start and could not remember anything about the story I was 3 4 of the way done so I went back to the beginning Even then it was difficult when I would go back the next day to remember what happened The language was not true to the period As the one reviewer stated this happened then that happened etc Mr Bennet talking and Mrs Bennet listening But the author was not consistent in that change Even when she had Mrs B remembering she was suppose to behave Mrs B would say or do something annoying and embarrassing i. Honor pride and prejudicev quotes pulling Lizzie s shawl off so that the low cut of her gown could be seen by Darcy Really Chaperons who want to get Darcy and Elizabeth together but then guard them so that they are not alone and allowed to clear up misunderstandings The story line reads close to JA s but the changes could have had angst thought and opinion expressed internally to connect us to the characters I tried to arch my eyebrow while reading the story as Elizabeth does seem to do it often It is not easy to do and in how many ways can one arch their eyebrow s to communicate a different viewpoint or exclamation point to what just happened I am not sure I would actually recommend this to anyone There are so many really good JAFF authors with many stories better written Cover art is nice 2 and a half stars would have been truer Honor Pride and Prejudice Honor Pride and PrejudiceI enjoyed that Darcy was brought to awareness much sooner in this variation than in some others The horror of witnessing Collins propose to Elizabeth brings out his jealousy while he s with Mr Bennet Admitting that he loves her to her father brings him and Georgiana back to Meryton after the holidays Unfortunately the evilness of Wickham and his cohort Mrs Younge continue to conspire against his happiness The added interference from Lady Catherine de Bourgh and her brother Lord Matlock cause havoc for ODC While there was not the infamous Hunsford proposal in this story the news of her sister s disgusting disgrace causes Elizabeth to refuse him in a not so calm nor elegant manner Returning to London heartbroken he refuses to help Bingley with finding Wickham When his cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam is requested by Colonel Forster to locate him Darcy realizes that he made a mistake by not helping He wants no one to know of his involvement in finding the wayward pair With the scandal removed Bingley thought Darcy would return to Netherfield but Darcy s pride prevents him from doing so even though he now knows why she refused him at Hunsford The Bingleys and Gardiners align their trips to Derbyshire to bring these two together ODC manage to bring themselves together literally through an accident that without coming to an understanding would have caused another Bennet family scandal Luckily the two loved each other to commit to their happiness Honor Pride and Prejudice Lizzy learns about Wickham sooner.
