I was like are you kidding me This can t be what it looks like How are they going to fix this Then it became clear that things were going downhill and fast in that reality Especially with Phoenix and I must say what he did shocked me I don t want to give away any major spoilers so I m just going to say that for me the resolution was satisfactory and for the most part things were wrapped up nicely Even if certain people did get off way too easily IMO I mean really Let s all blame the Ancient Horror for our behavior Did they conveniently forget that he wouldn t have been able to influence them all so easily if they hadn t already had certain thoughts opinions in their heads for him to work with in the first place I guess vengeance is not mine And as much as I loved each and every couple in this series.

From the ashes book online From the Ashes marks the last of the Chronicles of the Shifter Directive It also marks the beginning of a new reality that the characters have learned to appreciate even It also marks their firm determination to hold on to their loved ones and be resolute in their task to make their new world a better place where all shifter castes are no longer under the yoke of an anarchous directive. Book from the ashes series order Personal Note I have to thank the author for giving us this wonderful fantasy of a tale This is one chronicle I will never forget and it has a place of honor on my All Time Fantasy Favorites shelf where the rest of my favorite fantasy authors sit Scarlet Hyacinth raised the bar for MM fantasy genre and it is going to be hard to find another tale as wonderful as this In all my years reading the fantasy genre 35 years give and take a few I have only met six authors of this calibre.

Book from the ashes summary The cliffhanger from book 6 had me anxious to see what kind of world Phoenix and Rachen ended up in so this was definitely an interesting way to end the series In this new reality the characters we ve grown so fond of were reintroduced to us one by one as they interacted with each other for the first time Since many of their circumstances were now completely different I was curious to see how much of the characters personalities had changed and was pleased to see that they basically remained true to form It was exciting to go on the journey with them as they each moved closer to that moment when they would finally meet their mates again Even in this reality they had been dreaming of each other and felt the pull of their mate bonds So imagine my surprise when I m just toodling along waiting for them to reconnect and get their happy endings and then BAM When the first traumatic event occurred having back to back to back sex scenes was a bit of overkill which is basically what the last two chapters were But all in all this was still a fantastic series and I sure hope we get to see these guys again 9781627404037 I m so TORN over how to rate this book Because and I hate to say this but I hated like 85% of it I get that the whole what if idea is an interesting one to play with to see how different characters are if one thing didn t happen But it also felt like a waste reading it since they weren t the characters we had fallen in love with over the course of 6 epic stories And those are the characters I want to read about And all I wanted was for everyone to be happy at the end of all of this after everything they had been through And even though things were happy they were also kinda all bittersweet at the end of things because they all knew what had happened ARGGG Also it seems like this has been left open to to come like a second series Babies need to be born Is Scarlet Hyacinth even writing any I used to read a TON of things from her but I don t think she s released a single thing this year Anyway if you want some epic fantasy paranormal dragon werewolf fae romance with some mpreg magic matings you name it I say to give this series a try Once you get to know who s who and all these confusing long names haha you ll be good to go 9781627404037 OMG Just WoW So sad to see it come to an end I love the characters the world their stories I love that this was than just a fluffy light read Truly epic This has become one of my favorite series Thank you Ms Hyacinth 9781627404037 I hate 80% of this book for taking my heart and squashing it like a ripe tomato Why 4 stars if I hate it Well it s really an EPIC book And my masochist side loved it. Book from the ashes 5 StarsThis book picks up from the cliff hanger in book 6 Welcome to what I call the Shifter Directive Un Real World The upside downness had my head spinning at times and basically I didn t get it Everything is skewed because in the Un Real World the Great Sacrifice never happened So things are a mess I didn t much care for the exploration of this what if It wasn t bad per se it just didn t blow my dress up On the positive side I liked the ultimate resolutions once everything was back in order. Holy Shit Series Review So I am sitting here one day in between books and I think to myself I wanna read some fluff Some shifter fluff Yeah with mpreg I search around for a bit until I come across Scarlet Hyacinth Now I ve already read her entire Mate or Meal series so I know what I m in for I decide to check out her other works I see Werewolf s Way and think why not I settle down for a nice light fluffy afternoon read. Book from the ashes review Boy was I wrong This series was an epic and I do mean EPIC story I should have known I mean the cover of each book clearly states Epic Romance but I didn t pay it any attention I just wanted my fluff Yes it had shifters Yes it had mpreg and matings and claimings and all the stuff I was looking for But that s not all I got I also got action and adventure and intrigue I got a mystery with convoluted plot lines I got the whole gamut of emotions I got stories within stories within stories And let me just tell you there was not a single plot hole anywhere to be found I was not prepared to be sucked into this series like I was As soon as I finished one book I was immediately purchasing the next at full price no less I hungered for these books. Book from the ashes In the first book Werewolf s Way we meet Caelyn a sprite and Graham his werewolf mate Theirs is a forbidden love and we see their flight to freedom Do they make it Do they stay together or are they ripped apart by the evil Draechen The second book Draechen s Mate is about Prince Karien of the Draechen dragons and his arranged marriage to Prince Sari of the fae In this book we get to see that the Draechen may not be so evil after all Well at least some of them aren t. Rose from the ashes The third book Warrior s Dream is about Kael and Tali They are the stuff of legends and we finally get to learn all about the Great Sacrifice You have to pay attention with this one because it is the reason behind the entire story arc. Book from the ashes Book four Naga s Concubine introduces us to Lieutenant Sage of the Draechen and Prince Camden of the Naga Here we learn about the ins and outs of the Shifter Directive and why it needs to be abolished. Book from the ashes summary Book five Emperor s Consort is about Hareem and Taryn This story plays a pivotal role in the overall arc This is also one of my favorites Taryn will always hold a special place in my heart. Book from the ashes summary In book six Fire s Embrace we get to experience the love between Alwyn and Rachen We also get to experience one of the most tender and passionate love scenes I have ever read I thought my heart would burst from reading it This book also ends on a MAJOR cliffhanger Each of these stories was closely interwoven with the others All of the main characters and most of the secondary ones are in every book The plot is intricate and full of red herrings It kept my attention throughout. Rose from the ashes But wait What about the seventh and final book Book seven From the Ashes took every storyline in all the previous books stuffed them in a jar shook them up and dumped them on their heads At first I didn t know my up from down my right from left my backward from forward Everything I learned was gone all the truths were now lies I felt a pang of loss so great that it was a physical thing I grieved for these characters and what they were put through I still haven t completely recovered from this book. From the ashes publisher Overall this series was beautifully written Scarlet Hyacinth has a way of describing scenes to where you can t help but feel like you re there in the story even if there s no way it could be real Her words when expressing how a character feels are almost like poetry My heartstrings were not just tugged they were yanked on You can really tell a great deal of thought was put into this series It was so detailed so intricate and absolutely nothing was left out So while I may not have gotten what I was originally searching for I am delighted at what I discovered If you like shifters claimings and matings you should check out this series If you like fantasy with fae and magic you should check out this series If you like an epic story filled with action and intrigue and mystery you need to read this series If you like paranormal romance read this I certainly will read this again and again Just make sure you set aside enough time to read the whole thing because seriously it will suck you in and not let go until the end 9781627404037 Due to outside forces work I was not able to read this consistently so I hope this doesn t affect my thought processes on reviewing this. Rising from the ashes book Starting with where we left off in the previous book Oh my how on earth will this get fixed While it appears that all the main characters are still in play the circumstances are greatly different making for lots of tension and distrust This did lose my attention a bit Felt like going back to the beginning almost and just rewriting the plot badly. From the ashes pdf free Accepting some minor and major differences within this new world we see mates getting together again via strange familiar feeling dreams acting like a guide While working towards the goal of fixing that which is broken we end up with some main characters dying we just can NOT have this so this needs to be reversed The suspense is definitely back to full throttle for me by this point What happens next is unbelievable More shocking deaths follow preceding the pleas of a mate that understand something precious would be lost in their bond if these actions were allowed to stand In a last supreme effort Phoenix finally finds the power to fix what was sundered Again. From the ashes book online you think this is the end of the story but not just yet What else is left Well the mates deal with lingering effects from other reality even if they don t quite grasp it and the guilty parties behind the Ancient Horror need to be dealt with. From the ashes wolverine So everyone is restored the Directive is changed but not abolished and we get a glimpse into the future of this world and what may be ahead If we do indeed get to visit it again as Ms Crafty Hyacinth intends it should be an exciting journey to forge the future into a better place Awesome finale to a humongous roller coaster ride The End 9781627404037 If I could I d give this than 5 Stars What if the Directive hadn t been created Would the world have been better freer Would cooperation between the paranormal species have spawned naturally Or had the Directive been an alternative for something even worse Oh wowI can hardly believe I m at the final book And I have to admit that I read the blurb before I read the book Sometimes that s good and sometimes it isn t This time it was good For you see I m not a big fan of the whole alternate reality when it s messing up a world I already love Don t get me wrong I love an entire book series based on fantasy and alternate reality but in From the Ashes Scarlet Hyacinth took my world and jumbled it all up so the people who were supposed to be together weren t and I was holding my breath through the reading waiting until everything got straightened out again. Book from the ashes If you ve done what I strongly recommended then you ve read this series in order So you know that at the end of the previous book the Ancient Horror tried to steal and use all of Phoenix s powers which are considerable Rachen managed to trap the Ancient Horror inside himself and then Rachen died I know right It was agony Phoenix in his grief did something using earth s energy and all of a sudden Rachen was alive next to him the draechen guards were confusing Rachen with his twin Karein and then Karein showed up with Caelyn What No No No No I won t stand for it I said So you can imagine my trepidation when I opened up this book. From the ashes wolverine In this crazy mixed up world the Great Sacrifice never happened the Directive doesn t exist Karein is emperor Caelyn is his consort Hareem is general for the draechen troops werewolves apparently no longer exist Karein has been at war with the sprites and Sari his mother and father are Karein s greatest enemies and on the run Plus a whole lot Now do you understand my upset Every page I turned I was waiting for it to be put back to rights for Phoenix to figure out what he did and fix it I m telling you it was a nail biter Yikes Especially since these new incarnations of my favorite characters could sense something missing something just out of reachoh it was frustrating If you re thinking I m going to tell youthink again. Angela's ashes pdf I have been consistently impressed with the author s writing throughout this series and this final book is no exception In fact I m stunned by the intricacies of the story and how she brought all the pieces together in one seamless flowing manner The author could ve taken the predictable and easy route but she didn t She definitely didn t Instead what I got was this finale with bits and pieces of each reality woven together into a tapestry that literally knocked me off of my feet I cried through than one moment and it was heartbreaking but it was also cleansing much like Phoenix s fire As a devoted reader of paranormal stories particularly shifters and magical creatures I can honestly say that this is one of the best series I ve ever read Read it You won t regret it.
