Annenberg learner com Anne is a fascinating novel The author focuses a lot on the details which help readers view her world clearly and I always loved that in stories The story kept me captivated and although it s rather long I wasn t bored at all This book reads like a classic and I can gladly recommend it to people who loves historical fiction Romance Historical Fiction Suspense I won t give this one a rating because I didn t get past the prologue alas Phrases like defective redolence and learned instincts and a building described as a disconsolate unwieldy object immediately turned me off As they say in The Princess Bride You keep using that word I do not think it means what you think it means Romance Historical Fiction Suspense When I read the synopsis for this book I thought it looked like it would be an excellent read I was wrong The story has great potential but it could use some editing as there are many places where the wrong version of a word is used or the author was so busy trying to sound well educated that the words chosen felt awkward Also the actions and reactions of the characters often made no sense in the given situation and their behaviours or ideas sometimes seemed like those of people from the late 20th and early 21st century rather than from the 18th century I could have over looked the latter part since people who think in a way that s ahead of their time aren t unheard of but I can t over look the rest as these things spoiled the reading experience for me Romance Historical Fiction Suspense
