Book New Order apocalypse now The remnants of society rot The privileged get a five hundred calorie meal pack every day The dead are dumped in landfills or left where they fall Thirty three years after extremists released the engineered virus the Centers for Disease Control is the last governing body The transition from finding a cure to administering what is left never set well with anyone The resentment may drive the rumors of conspiracy But too many CDC administrators survive and any focus of finding a cure appears abandoned Jason Kates believes he s searching for a way to feed the starving that remain in the Eastern cities but his assignment to cross the lawless lands to reach the American heartland may be a pretense to get him killed He s an outsider to the CDC hierarchy and there are dangerous secrets to be kept Clueless to what he s facing and suicidal Jason partners with a road wise girl who tries to carjack him He needs the value of her harsh experiences She needs the nutrition bars he carries Their sarcasm laced relationship grows as they careen through ever dangerous obstacles They discover little than empty prairie until they stumble upon the proof of conspiracy which propels Jason into a far challenging role New Order ApocalypseI m not sure what genre this book falls under It s set in a world similar to Stephen King s The Stand at least 30 years later but without the weird stuff going on Would that make it horror I m not sure It certainly had some scary elements I thought there might be a little romance in there too since all Jason ever thinks about is having sex haha yet it s kind of skimmed over But I really liked the characters and the story kept me than interested It just got a little bogged down at the end New Order Apocalypse Mr Wheeler s character development and complex story line make this post apocalyptic world come to life with plenty of plot twists and action When Jason the main character finds everything he believed to be true is mired in deceit and betrayal he has only his sense of survival and justice to see him through his quest An interesting read that will keep you seeking resolution as you become emotionally invested in these character I greatly recommend. Kindle New Order apocalypse Comment Comment Permalink New Order Apocalypse I don t often stray from the chick lit genre but I had this book on my kindle and being a first chapter scanner I looked it over The story was gritty and different than what I normally read but it was well written face paced and sucked me right in I was turning pages to see what would happen next No fluff just story I appreciate a writer who doesn t waste my time New Order Apocalypse
