I ve gotten away from multiples because the moving parts there are the harder it is to get it lined up It s HARD to do I certainly enjoyed earlier books in the series but this felt like pulling teeth. Gideon band 5 stars My least favorite of the series It was a bit of a hot mess A lot of drama and problems just kept popping up and things just kept getting revealed one after another Gideon back story was an interesting read but his woe is me attitude was depressing Niall felt like a simpleton to me I think he was suppose to be 21yo in the story but he kind of was acting like a young child Taye was a jerk and I just couldn t change my image of him even after readers discovered what was going on with him The way Niall and Taye were acting was eye roll inducing and a bit bipolarish to me Really I think Ciro was the only character I really liked in the story beside for the other omega s and their mates. Yeah yeah I know but we won t discuss how weak I am Anyway I found this installment rather provocative but still could only give it three stars and let me tell you why Single person POV in this case Gideon s Yes I understand that is this authors preference and how the story unfolds in her mind However if you ve read JF s blog you will hear not the characters voice but her own For the sake of the rest of my review however I will refer to it as Gideon s Now what always bothers me about this POV is perspective Duh you say We know what Gideon thinks sees feels but this story isn t well the relationship between the mating group all about Gideon At least it shouldn t be I don t want to just know how Gideon perceives the others I want to know what they think when they re alone What they see going on around them What they feel about their lovers and how it feels when they touch them I want to know and see the all consuming passion between them the misunderstandings the exasperation fear and hurt from the person feeling it Okay smile now for why I found it provocative If you re familiar with JF s books you know there is an abundance of eye rolling cringe inducing oh my god are you serious moments in her stories From cheesy dialogue to heros bawling at the drop of a hat Not to mention loose story threads that are never tied up to rambling sentences bad grammar beyond a characters personality traits non existent punctuation spelling and editing mistakes And my all time cringe inducing pet peeves over use of pet names and the classic snickered adjective Some of those I did find in abundance were rambling sentences beyond the characters propensity of use when they were nervous and the cheesy dialogue For example.
