This book is five stories beautifully written There is the carpenter who gets paid in coins and meets a well dressed woman on the train There s the rich man who aspires to be poor and what he does to get there A group of dogs in the city find themselves all wearing sunglasses A man on the brink of fatherhood thinks about camping on the moon And a good man who spreads goodness all around but refuses to embrace himself as being good Dave Jaicks has published poetry and prose in literary journals such as Open City Fence The Haight Ashbury Literary Journal Hummingbird Passages North and Lit UP Horses In The Fog site_link post a commentI won a copy of David Jaicks s book Horses in the Fog I received it a few days later with a nice note from him. Horses in the fogvault His style of writing seems carefully thought out than many contemporary authors and allowed me to envision places and times less chaotic than now I m unsure if that was his intent but I enjoyed it nonetheless Horses In The Fog
