Librarian Note There is than one author in the GoodReads database with this name Rex s ExesI m auditioning for one of the three male parts in this humorous play which should delight our audiences here in Sun Lakes AZ Jessie Jones I m a big fan of JHW and in fact have directed several of their plays so when I read some I am unfamiliar with I see them staged easily That was the case with this one Of course it was not great theatrical literature but I could imagine the audiences howling at the antics of the characters continually throughout This one was just as funny as most of the others and I hope I will be able to see a production of it some time soon Jessie Jones You always know what you re getting with Jones Hope Wooten Texas one liners nothing too deep but audience pleasing but with REX S EXES you just get too much of what you already know The second in the Verdeen Cousins trilogy RE plays out as a carbon copy of its predecessor THE RED VELVET CAKE WAR with the extreme costume trick of another JHW show HALLELUJAH GIRLS Look I knew this one would revisit covered territory but it s just too darn close to justify Our local theatre did RVCW this past year and we were discussing running the trilogy over the next few as it was such a hit however I m not so sure now after reading this one I m sure the audience will come and laugh but will they leave disappointed I ve read several JHW this is hand s down my least favorite Jessie Jones This is so fun mostly I had to check the date this book was written because some of the jokes are surprisingly out of date This will be a great play and I know people will enjoy it but I just can t sit in a crowd and laugh at fat women Jessie Jones
