Cari Z is a Colorado girl who loves snow and sunshine She has a wonderful relationship with her husband a complex relationship with the characters in her head and a sadomasochistic relationship with her exercise routine She feels like Halloween should happen every month which is why you get this picture of her and hopes that you enjoy reading what shes put out there as much as she enjoyed writing it in the first place Cari Z is a Colorado girl who loves snow and sunshine She has a wonderful relationship with her husband a complex relationship with the characters in her head and a sadomasochistic relationship with her exercise routine She feels like Halloween should happen every month which is why you get this picture of her why not This is a great punchy series that just gets better every episode I honestly can t recommend it enough I m enjoying reading short bits of it at a time and think it ll hold up really well if not actually better when re reading the whole thing at one time It feels as though this was a novel that they split into parts for a serial so I m kind of excited to re read it all at one sitting Anyway in this installment Devon has been cambion napped by his demon father Cressidus while Rio is struggling to find him Time is running short and once Cressidus binds with Devon completely all hope is lost This episode is pretty action packed We start where the last one left off with Porter Grey bleeding out on a nasty motel mattress while Rio wants to torture the summoner for information Rio is shut down on that path and he takes matters into his own hands I liked this aspect of Rio and we learn about his past and identity as a nephilim Steven has a brief but delightful role and I m sorry he was such a minor character However I tend to favor him and he s not an important part of the story as a whole so I can t hold it against the book Well I can but I won t as long as he keeps popping up of course Anyway Devon is off being held in a cage and meeting his half siblings This part is gruesome as to be expected but interesting The writing keeps this part engaging without gory and all the while maintaining a very creepy vibe The edgy atmosphere is to be expected but I like that the demon has some subtly He she is over the top and predictably evil but I m curious to see where the story goes with Cressidus Also are demons sexless I can t figure out what the demon itself is even when ignoring the human host gender It is of course a minor unimportant detail Most of the story worked well for me and I liked the action and internal trains of thought as well as the further characterization The only thing that didn t work so well for me was ironically Rio s actions They just didn t make much sense to me I m not sure why they knocked out Maria it s not as though she could physically or otherwise prevent them from leaving They also could have gotten the same information from Grey if she was awake or not again it s not like her saying no could stop them I wonder if there s some subtly I missed Because of this it feels like the story is going in a new and different direction Isolating Rio and Devon could be fun but I don t know why it s necessary With some of these unanswered questions I didn t enjoy this offering as much as previous ones It s a hazard of the serial when these cliffhangers come up I trust the story and impeccable writing as much as ever so I m happy to go wherever it leads Until then everyone should be reading this Well those that like their angels and demons a bit naughty and bloody anyway ebook 4 StarsA Live Your Life Buy The Book ReviewRio desperately needs information from Porter Grey about Cressidus Unfortunately Porter is kind of close to death and unconscious Steven isn t able to get much useful information from Porter either Maria wants to take Porter to the hospital for immediate attention She is weighing the benefit of keeping Porter alive against the immediate need to get Devon back safe Maria is aware Rio isn t human but she needs information from him before she is willing to take his word about the dangers Rio refuses to give his word and burns a bridge with Safeguard Systems Steven unexpectedly knocks Maria unconscious so Rio has the opportunity to plan Devon s rescue for a few minutes Rio calls Devon s fathers and learns the best means by which to find Devon Meanwhile Devon has been trapped in a cage by Cressidus who has been pitting her children against each other Being demonic she s a pretty bad parent She tells Devon the truth about Rio and his parents and their angelic heritage She does everything she can to destroy his faith those he loves yet Devon refuses to bow down to her and allow her to merge with him and control him Cressidus has to fight her way in. Dark around the edges pdf free download Ugh This installment was depressing I knew it had to happen but I didn t like reading it As usual the writing is good the story makes sense the offspring of an incubus and one of his female followers Discovered by those who could ve helped him too late to be saved from his nature he barely survived a brutal childhood before getting a handle on his powers of seduction Lust sex desire these are second nature to cambion and are their road to both riches and ruin Devon has the power to bring people to their knees with a glance to drive them so crazy with pleasure that they forget their names and occasionally forget to breathe as well He could use his birthright to force the world to worship him but Devon is trying to fight against the pull to do what he can to track down people with the power to summon a demon and stop them before cambion can be made But Devon doesn t realize that the path he and his friends are following is only one strand of a web laid in place by a demon who s not content to wait on the whims of humanity to get out of Hell Devon is this demon s key to staying above ground permanently and when he finally catches up with the cambion he s not taking no for an answer Episode 5 Possession With the demon Cressidus in the wind with Devon in tow Rio and Steven are left with only the dying Porter Grey as their only link to their whereabouts And time is quickly running out as Cressidus is putting his final pieces on the board leaving Devon in a fight for his life Dark Around the Edges Possession Cambion 5 I loved Rio in this one probably because he s such a practical bastard He had to deal with a lot too facing his lover s badass fathers and his bitchy coworkers And in the end before storming off to play savior he just had to make sure his cute little pomeranian will be taken care of 3 Steven is interesting and I m kind of looking forward to of him I m almost hoping for the romance to end in a MMM relationship.
