95 stars Melissa Drake created a truly amazing magical world The world and character building were captivating from page one and sucked me right in I think many people can get into and relate fall in love with the characters This book is great as a stand alone but I ve heard through the grape vine she is going to be working on a second book in the future Why did it lose. Daughter of mythosd discogs 05 stars for me The formatting of the double spaced sentences threw me off pretty much the whole book For an ebook I m not used to it and found it slightly distracting But For being her first book I have to give mad props I loved it beginning to end and I cannot wait to see what is in store for Nora and the gang Fantasy.

Daughter of mythos fantasy characters While this book is intended for a Young Adult audience as an adult I can honestly say that this will be an enjoyable read for older adults as well so don t let the young adult classification turn you off if YA isn t really your thing If you enjoy fantasy novels then you will really love this book I finished it in two days and loved every minute of it Once I started I couldn t put it down Fantasy Young Adult I recently finished reading Daughter of Mythos by Melissa Drake This book is a YA fantasy about a girl named Nora with a mysterious past and an uncertain future Nora is a foster kid but she has a bigger problem than most whenever she gets comfortable in a new home something terrible happens An unseen force tears her new home apart leaving Nora to clean up the mess Usually that involves moving to yet another foster home trying to integrate into another new school and trying to build a life with people who really don t trust her When it happens again she s off to yet another new home but this time something is different The people here know she is something different Something special It isn t long before Nora has a quest before her She will travel through a new world be dogged my demons and wicked sorcerers and she will be asked to perform tasks she thought impossible Along the way she might fall in love she might make a new friend and she might even die Who knew growing up could be so uncertain This book was fun and fast paced and the beginning immediately drew me in The story was interesting throughout and I kept reading until I got to the end because I wanted to know what happened next The editing was good and the plotline was easy to follow It took me a while to read this though I think it was because there was a lack of depth description dialogue and character We are left to make assumptions about creatures and lands we have never seen We are told Nora is fighting demons but we are never really told what demons are what they look like sure but not why demons are present in a world that is Fantasyland than Hell Mythos is beautiful and has a purple sky but beyond that I never really got a good image of it in my head All relationships were a little thin a little surface only I never connected with anyone even when Nora did Because of this emotional impacts didn t hit as hard as one might hope and I repeatedly put the book down In short this book was not true love for me but it was true like I am giving this book four stars because it was entertaining and I think kids would really enjoy it My son who is ten picked up my Kindle and was hooked Mythos is a safe world for him to read with Melissa as his tour guide I have recommended it to a few different young readers So if you are looking for something light and good fun you ll like Daughter of Mythos Fantasy Young Adult There are so many amazing things I want to say about Daughter of Mythos that I don t know where to start You may have realized by now that YA Fantasy isn t exactly my typical genre However there have been a few series that I just adore just look at the Honor Roll so when I was given the opportunity to read the first few chapters a couple of months ago I decided to give it a try I was immediately hooked and began to literally beg for Just ask Melissa Drake I m sure she d verify that for you I jumped at the opportunity to beta read this book for completely selfish reasons I wanted at it before everyone else I was too impatient to wait to find out what happened next Nora has had some pretty horrific things happen in her life some of which she can t even begin to explain When she discovers what has been destroying been at the root of her problems for last few years and why she steps up to the plate and shows everyone just how strong she really is She is an awesome roll model Zane oh Zane what to say about you Zane is the type of boy who wears his scars on his sleeve just to keep everyone away His past is riddled with mystery and an obvious amount of pain He is bound to protect Nora but his past makes it difficult. Fantasy daughter of mythos download This is the perfect read to share with your teen tween this summer You can find it right now on Smashwords and with other sites to soon follow I ve already started begging for a second book its up to us as readers to convince Melissa Drake that she needs to write it Fantasy Young Adult Daughter of Mythos is a tale about Nora a girl who has been moved from one family to the next for years after her birth parents and then her adoptive parents die The reason she is moved from home to home is this mysterious force that follows her and causes mischief in her life When she mysteriously gets saved from certain death from new bad boy Zane Nora gets taken on a ride of a lifetime to her home planet Mythos She is told by her new foster parents Josie and Kasen that she is the daughter of Mythos and is the savior they have been protecting for years She is to return to Mythos and close the portals that the evil wizard Sinistrel has opened and is planning to use in order to cause destruction of Mythos and all the good in the world They along with Zane and a few other quirky characters help Nora figure out the truth about her life and realize her destiny to save Earth and Mythos At the beginning I wasn t really into the book I thought that there were too many holes and the pace seemed too fast for me Once the reader figures out who Nora really is then it get s interesting Melissa Drake creates a world much like earth just with magic and creatures that we all believe to be myths There are dragons goblins elves demons angels and fairies all jammed packed into the world of Mythos As the novel progresses you get to see Nora s character change from a girl who thinks she doesn t belong anywhere to a young woman who is willing to fight for her friends lives even if it costs her own life This is the perfect fast paced novel for young adults and I would definitely use it in my classroom to promote literacy Though some of the holes are never resolved Drake does a great job keeping the suspense until the very end when everything is revealed The ending leaves it open for a second book and I hope she writes one because I want to know where Nora and Zane end up in their fight against the evil Sinistrel. I thoroughly enjoyed my journey to Mythos of the purple sky and water Suitable for bedtime reading to younger kids or for older ones to read alone Deceptively fluffy but with strong themes of love and loss and of course a Cute Boy to go along with it The ending hits like a dragon s wingbeat but the characters enchant I d have loved to see some of the scenes fleshed out as the book feels a little jumpy in spots It stands well on its own but if there s a sequel sign me up for a return trip to the beautiful planet Fantasy Young Adult I was stunned at how easily this book read From start to finish The story begins investing into Nora as a late teen and you travel with her on a quest of self discovery to find out where she comes from and the power inside herself She battles low self confidence discrimination and heartbreak all while finding a place that she belongs The direct easy to read prose doesn t mess around The author doesn t waste time with useless scenes and uses every second to put Nora in motion It s as though the story is on the run with Nora its fast paced paragraphs blend into one another so that you are sucked into the world of Mythos I would suggest this fantasy book to anyone who enjoys a chance to escape into a world of limitless enjoyment and thrill I cannot wait to see what Melissa Drake comes up with next Wohoo Fantasy Young Adult I don t read YA fantasy novels usually but read this one due to some friend s feedback This book is excellent The story pulls you in and shows true strength and the strong bonds of love and friendship I fell in love with all of the characters I m not sure who I can say is my favorite I m torn between Nora Zane and Tristen They are all great This book is great for young adults as well as adults It was a pretty quick read but still captivating I would definitely recommend this book Melissa Drake is a very talented author and I really hope she makes a sequel to this book There was no cliffhanger but definitely room for the story to continue I would love to see what happens to the characters in their journeys Fantasy Young Adult I don t typically leave book reviews but I wanted to on this particular book Considering that this is Melissa Drake s debut novel it is exceptionally well written with an engaging story that immediately captures your attention I finished this book in a few hours I did not want to put it down I have to praise the characters you immediately begin to care for all of them I read a lot of YA novels but I m usually disappointed in how the female leads are portrayed I was pleasantly surprised with Nora She is strong and a very real character Everyone will be able to relate to her The romance aspect of this novel is just right I prefer when YA novels have romantic story lines You still get a believable amount of romance but the central focus of this novel is still Nora s journey.
