Positive affirmations Review will be available next week Gay List Book Reviews Tia Fielding I already had this one and after I read the blurb I knew that this book probably wouldn t be for me Wanting to broaden my reading horizons a bit can t be wrong so I set of to stil give this one a try. Ebooks explained Very early on in the book though it became clear this wasn t the book for me to broaden my horizons It s too much a TV detective episode and that is very much not my cup of tea. Positive punishment Books I do not finish in this way don t get a rating from me because that wouldn t be fair Tia Fielding A game or in this case a book of two halves cop mystery and relationship. Positive pregnancy test I did enjoy the mystery.
Positive quotes
Tia Fielding put together a wonderful story full of mystery romance and some downright smexy moments I hope this book may be the first of a series because I am anxious to find out what happens to some of the wonderful secondary characters that added so much to Shawn and Brent s story. E-positive You can read the rest of Jackie s review at The Novel Approach Tia Fielding The book would have been a solid 4 stars if once the case was solved the author wrote The End but alas there were some procedural issuesthat were very much artistic licence but it was a quite entertaining police story. Positive peace The ubiquitous big issue between Shawn and Brent felt a bit contrived afterall they had had much bigger issues to surmount though Shawn s sister Kelly is a light of reason There was an intiguing small chapter at mid point from the perpetrator s pov and I thought we were going to find out the why of it all from him but that was his only appearance as something other than a support The mystery part of the story was largely over by middle of the book and I do feel it did end a bit softly There was an epilogue later on but I did feel let down a bit about it. Book positive psychology The second part of the story was much Brent and Shawn as a couple both their work was in there but as a background this time The slated three way did happen and I was expecting to not feel it or to feel it not needed from other reviews but I thought it was OK like an itchto be scratched the guys had done it ticked the list no need to revisit The only surprise when it came up was the identity of the third I was expecting it to be different Brent seemed to get juvenile in this half leaping about pouncing on people which had me frowning a bit I do think that whilst we got the emotion about the article Brent wrote about himself and Ben I would have liked to see some of it. Positive books 5 Stars Positive is an engaging story that pulls you along with great characters as they work through not only a bizarre series of attacks but in their personal lives as well I recommend this book to any who love a bit of a twisted mystery a good romp in between the sheets and true self reflection and growthTo see the full review visit on 8 14 Tia Fielding Tia Fielding is a Finnish author who loves witty people words peppermint sarcasm autumn and the tiny beautiful things in life Tia identifies as genderqueer but isn t strict about pronouns Why Because luckily in her native language there aren t gender specific pronouns. Positive thinking comKo fi site_link site_link Even after a decade the life that journalist Brent Walsh and Milwaukee homicide detective Shawn Mackey have made together is far from boring But when a new case cuts a weekend getaway short they aren t quite prepared for how it will impact their personal lives Suddenly there s too much to juggle Shawn will be working the case of the sharpshooter who is trying to infect random people with HIV Brent needs to cover the story but fears a conflict of interest one of Shawn s colleagues is attracted to him and Brent sincerely needs to mend the painful break with his childhood best friend Ollie and heal their broken hearts Though case comes to a close it s not the end of their troubles Shawn and Brent still face a past of old white lies a present possibility of inviting another man to their bed and a future with children not to mention health issues and national fallout from the case It s enough to make them want to run away until they realize they have to face those challenges head on so they can get on with the life of love they re hoping for Positive2. Positive o'brien's test 5 starsWhen Milwaukee Detective Shawn Mackey gets a call from work during a weekend away with his husband journalist for the Neville Tribune Brent Walsh they head back to find a sharpshooter with a tranquilizer gun and darts filled with AIDS infected blood When a second person is hit with one of the darts the case suddenly becomes all too real reminding Brent of his struggles to come to terms with his condition and his fears for the future Especially after running into his former best friend Ollie During Shawn and Brent s separation five years ago Ollie had made a move on Brent who not feeling the same way turned him down Not being able to handle the implications to their friendship Brent had then taken off to a club and got himself blind drunk the result of which ended in his infection Ollie blamed himself for causing Brent to take off in the first place and his guilt over it caused an enormous and seemingly unbridgeable rift in their once close friendship. Positive meaning I started out thinking the writing wasn t too bad but the flow was a little bit stilted I thought it may even out a bit once all the exposition was out of the way Unfortunately no It got worse and there was no end to the exposition There was so much over explaining going on in the text yet it took over a third of the book to not still be in the dark as to exactly how Brent ended up with HIV and how his former best friend Ollie was involved. Book positive angle There were quite a few things about the police aspects of the story that just didn t ring true to me Shawn s bosses insistence that he appear on a morning show in regards to the case threatening that his career might run less smoothly from now on if he refused was a major one for me I have never seen or heard of police appearing on a morning show to give information on an active case never mind the interviewer bringing up their personal life and that of their partner That entire scene was completely implausible for me and its sole purpose seemed to be to set up another unlikely and unnecessary storyline involving the producer who apparently had wanted Ollie but had been refused by him as Ollie still had feelings for Brent These weren t the only plot holes and scenarios I had issues with either. Positiveness synonym And then there s the whole introduction of a third man into their bed Why This just seemed to be randomly thrown into the mix just for the sake of it There had been no previous hint that they dabbled with a third in fact there d been a very strong impression of monogamy given but suddenly after one brief meeting Brent decided he wants the guy And there is also Brent s HIV status. Kindle positive grid I ended up skimming and even skipping paragraphs due to the constant over explaining If I wanted to know step by step play instructions for croquet I would have looked them up myself By the end I had well and truly come to the conclusion that this book was just not for me I found the writing style frustrating the dialogue often bordering on unbelievable plot holes galore and felt no real connection to the characters And at two thirds through I don t understand why the sudden desire for a one off threesome that served no purpose to the story or character development not that there was much character development going on Oh and apparently almost everyone they run into is gay as well Except the women. Positive and negative freedom 5 starsI chose to read this book because it got quite a few bad reviews I know sounds strange but I sometimes LOVE books that others don t In this case it wasn t no where near as bad as some of the reviews I read but it was still missing something. Positive reinforcement I think the majority of lower ratings come from the seemingly random only once and no kissing threesome that Shawn and Brent chose to engage in I didn t have a huge problem with that but what I did have a problem with is how easily it was set up orchestrated and how it ended It was all too easy life is never that easy. Positive meaning After lots of mulling this around in my head I came to conclusion that the reason this book felt like something was missing was because it was The meat and potato s of this story played off screen The issues between Brent and Shawn already happened so I couldn t grasp the hurt that came from their short break up the fact that Brent contracted HIV during that break five years ago and the big secret that he kept from Shawn I just didn t feel it And the secret was so minor that I kept waiting for the other shoe to fallbut there wasn t another shoe and I kept thinking to myself that s it Brent s friendship with Ollie was just odd Seriously had that part played out in the book I may have grasped some emotional connection between them but since it was just mentioned I didn t get itor care. Positive affirmations There is also the non romance storylinea sharpshooter using a tranquilizer gun to randomly shoot people with HIV positive blood This should have ended with at least the bad guy being well a bad guy but yet again everything was settled too neatly and too easily. Positive memes So it was better than I expected the writing was decent and the storyline and plot had great potential but unfortunately the delivery and the ease in which everything worked out left me feeling like something was missing. Positive affirmations com Tia Fielding 4 HeartsReview written for MM Good Book ReviewsJournalist Brent and his husband homicide detective Shawn are enjoying a well deserved weekend away when it is cut short by a work call for Shawn after ten years together it is something that Brent is used to but this case cuts close to home Shawn has to find a sharpshooter firing tranquilizer darts and Brent is steering clear of the story Brent also longs to mend the rift with his childhood best friend and a colleague of Shawn s catches both of their eye When the case closes Shawn and Brent still have to face a white lie that shakes up their trust the possibility of inviting another man to their bed health issues and the possibility of children They have to face the challenges head on together if they want to keep their happy life of love. Positive masculinity This is a great story that mixes a police investigation journalism and they everyday lives of a loving couple Shawn and Brent are both great characters they have been together for ten years but separated for a brief time five years ago and even with the difficulties that separation has left behind they love each other completely Investigating a shooting spree brings home to Brent his own situation and they begin to discuss children and their wish to have them During a brief visit to Shawn s work Brent meets a colleague of Shawn s who sets his mind to erotic thoughts and a new idea forms I thought this story was brilliant I loved the way it was written and the characters portrayed Brent s need to reconnect with his childhood best friend is touching and wonderfully done the way the investigation is played out was brilliant and very original keeping you wondering what could happen next Brent s and Shawn s relationship is filled with love with just a couple of ups and downs and you can see the close family ties they have This is a really well written story that was well thought out and to my mind researched When everything is tied together and finished this is about a couple who have been through a lot together and love and support each other through thick and thin Now although I really enjoyed this story and thought a lot of it was wonderful I must admit to having some major disquiet with the threesome I mean the idea came from nowhere to a couple who had never wanted anyone else and suddenly they are contemplating adding a third to their bed for a one off time it would have been different if they had at least thought about it or discussed it in the past but they hadn t It just felt wrong for it to be there tainting a wonderful story for the sake of thrills and sex I will recommend this to those who love slight thrillers a genuine loving couple mending friendships looking to the future love and forgiveness and a great visit to England Tia Fielding A very good engaging read I had a lot of fun reading it well balanced an interesting crime already solved at about 60% and then I asked myself so what s to come during the remaining 40% Well their life obviously was going on and we reader got to accompany them Which was fine for a change even a threesome was in the cards Only in the end it somehow trickled away no highs no downs it could have went on for pages and pages Suddenly it stopped Perhaps a chapter less would have been nicer Nevertheless I would like to visit Brent and Shawn again perhaps a year down the line trying for a child or already being parents Tia Fielding 2. Positive production externality When a second person is hit with one of the darts the case suddenly becomes all too real reminding Brent of his struggles to come to terms with his condition and his fears for the future Especially after running into his former best friend Ollie During Shawn and Brent s separation five years ago Ollie had made a move on Brent who not feeling the same way turned him down Not being able to handle the implications to their friendship Brent had then taken off to a club and got himself blind drunk the result of which ended in his infection Ollie blamed himself for causing Brent to take off in the first place and his guilt over it caused an enormous and seemingly unbridgeable rift in their once close friendship During all the events of the story one of which is the fact that Brent had been keeping the truth from Shawn about Ollie s proposition of him they start to re evaluate their lives thinking about what they want including the possibility of children. Nach positiven schwangerschaftstest blutung Just as the case is being wrapped up a detective from another division Malik James whom Shawn had seen in passing at the station from time to time catches the eye of Brent while Brent s down at the station He brings up the idea of a threesome with the handsome detective to Shawn who finds the idea intriguing They invite Malik to one of their regular Pizza Parties and then invite him into their bed as a one time only deal. Positive intelligence pdf I started out thinking the writing wasn t too bad but the flow was a little bit stilted I thought it may even out a bit once all the exposition was out of the way Unfortunately no It got worse and there was no end to the exposition There was so much over explaining going on in the text yet it took over a third of the book to not still be in the dark as to exactly how Brent ended up with HIV and how his former best friend Ollie was involved I found some of the dialogue started to verge on ridiculous It certainly wasn t very believable especially during the first sex scene which was also full of explanations of everything and unnecessary details Not particularly sexy. Positive kidney punch sign There were quite a few things about the police aspects of the story that just didn t ring true to me Shawn s bosses insistence that he appear on a morning show in regards to the case threatening that his career might run less smoothly from now on if he refused was a major one for me Kaminsky turned to him Yes see Shawn we re getting pressure from the Mayor s office to go public with this Newspapers are calling and trying to get the scoop We need damage control before this mess gets out of hand I have never seen or heard of police appearing on a morning show to give information on an active case never mind the interviewer bringing up their personal life and that of their partner It would be through a press conference so that the information is released to all media outlets at the same time That entire scene was completely implausible for me and its sole purpose seemed to be to set up another unlikely and unnecessary storyline involving the producer who apparently had wanted Ollie but had been refused by him as Ollie still had feelings for Brent But this Having someone who was maybe in love with Ollie who was still hung up on Brent turn on Shawn to somehow get back at someone No No no no That is a very convoluted reason explanation These weren t the only plot holes and scenarios I had issues with either Later on the police insist Brent be a part of the interview with the sharpshooter to satisfy the sharpshooter s demands But Brent is a civilian and has no actual connection to this person And then there s the whole introduction of a third man into their bed Oh we re thinking about having a threesome Brent said casually Why This just seemed to be randomly thrown into the mix just for the sake of it There had been no previous hint that they dabbled with a third in fact there d been a very strong impression of monogamy given but suddenly after one brief meeting Brent decided he wants the guy And there is also Brent s HIV status They fell asleep tangled up together like they normally slept and despite having had so much fun just hours ago the bed didn t felt No that felt was not my error It s also far from the only one I found empty without Malik in it Instead it felt just right So what exactly was the point of all that then I ended up skimming and even skipping paragraphs due to the constant over explaining If I wanted to know step by step play instructions for croquet I would have looked them up myself By the end I had well and truly come to the conclusion that this book was just not for me I found the writing style frustrating the dialogue often bordering on unbelievable plot holes galore and felt no real connection to the characters And at two thirds through I don t understand why the sudden desire for a one off threesome that served no purpose to the story or character development not that there was much character development going on Oh and apparently almost everyone they run into is gay as well Except the women Tia Fielding
