Street artist Todd Lowery is a high school student with a lot of potential although his parents don t see him that way When he s not spraying murals of beautiful girls with his crew The Spill he s chasing girls When he s interrupted in his tree house by his new neighbor Ghost he decides to check out the situation instead of running from it He finds himself falling for Ghost s live in girlfriend Maeve while dating his current dream girl Adrine Todd tries to get away from Maeve to prevent disrespecting Ghost but finds it impossible Ghost hires him to deliver packages of all sizes What resides in the packages isn t clear to Todd and it has him questioning the situation He wants to quit but the perks are just too good Todd has two choices stay with Adrine stay away from his neighbors and live a normal teenage life or leave Adrine join his neighbors in their illicit world and risk falling harder for Maeve Hard in the PaintTodd Lowrey is a bad boy but has hidden talent s This is a story about someone who definitely walks on the shadowy side of life so be ready for some illegality and also some sex though not graphicly depicted In another way Todd is just a typical teenager so many girls and which will he pick I enjoyed this story and found the characters interesting if not necessarily likable As you can tell I am perhaps a little too vanilla to really enjoy the book The story moves along nicely and swiftly there are no boring bits Tadd manages to make for himself a trap which really had me wondering how it would be resolved I was surprised and pleased with the ending Rose writes well in a very accessible style There is nothing too complex here so the book would suit teenage readers but also can be enjoyed by adults I am happy to rate this novel as 4 stars R Rose Todd Lowery is a seventeen year old high school student that has a passion for spraying murals or tagging as they call it The author gets in the head of a boy who is still learning what he wants in life and who is simply misunderstood. Hard in the paint piano Todd is learning about himself as he gets his first job and what a first job that is deals with pretty girls and relationships and strengthening his bond with his parents mainly his mom all while standing up for his friends The author doesn t hold back on keeping a typical teenage voice language and thoughts It might be blunt but it is real Todd is a talented artist with his whole life ahead of him will the decisions he make affect his future Well read and find out R Rose I enjoy a story that s completely different from everything else I ve read AND has a twist at the end A good twist Hard in Paint is both and a story many fans of street art street life and the genre will enjoy R Rose
