A different era A cracking piece of Australian History 147 Published in 1979 it was fascinating to read this and reflect on the changes in our Australian society since that time I remain convinced that things were not that much better in the good old days women were not treated as equals there was no consideration for the environment and the white Australia Policy appeared to be in full swing I am not being critical as you look back through a 2022 lens making judgement about things in 1979 Some parts of the book were entertaining some were cringeworthy but the overall sense I got was that things have changed for the better from those days 147
