A free short story I picked it up because it sounded different and interesting I was correct This was a bit of freshness in the standard romance novel m m or m f Perhaps because it focused on a Chinese tea house and the people who worked within it and all of them were Chinese with Chinese names This is a different culture from mine so it was new and intriguing On top of that this was not the standard two people meet have inexplicable attraction to each other have hot sex go through a difficulty that threatens to tear them apart make up and live happily ever after Instead it felt grounded with characters that had weight to them they had personalities desires and dreams that had nothing to do with sex or significant others The main characters actually develop feelings for each other that grow stronger It feels natural and instead of being the main story is really only a part of a larger tale surrounding the tea house It is a lovely story and I think because of how it is told it doesn t matter that the romantic leads are men it could have been any sex because it was a story of two human beings Sweet and gentle overall there are hints of magic and depth here I would definitely read by Suilan Lee Her voice is bright and clear and her work is enticing Suilan Lee Ah Suilan Lee you re killing me I really really liked this story and all the characters within Ziyu and San were so sweet and the slow burn without the gratuitous sex scenes was a delight But seriously get yourself a proofreader or two and an editor who are all well versed in English This thing is suffering from grammatical mass casualties I know this is one of her earlier works but since I m a fan and have read a lot of her stuff I know this problem hasn t gone away Suilan Lee The Precious Teahouse was a refreshing read Ms Lee writes about chinese tea and the traditional way of preparing it The main character in the Precious Teahouse is named Ziyu Yin Ziyu owns a teahouse that is struggling financially and he s on the verge of going bankrupt He keeps holding on to the teahouse despite the fact that he might lose his business Enter San Meor a mysterious man who brings Ziyu a rare type of tea and then asks for Ziyu s father Their story begins with when San returns to meet Ziyu and tells him he d like to help save The Precious Teahouse.
