Juvenile The One Winged DragonWhen I was in grade school I found this in the school library It was the first book I ever read that was set in my city not in far away UK or in the USA In MY city I was terribly excited by this Even exciting was the plot A young boy makes friends with a local Chinese gardener who just happens to have an Imperial Dragon living in his well The dragon manages to take the boy and his young female neighbour on a series of adventures meeting with a First Nations band and living with them on a isolated island off the coast of BC Canada They end up in the Arctic facing a evil witch and even exciting events I loved this book as a child and often mention it to friends when talking about our favourite books Several Christmases ago a dear friend managed to find a used copy on the internet and gave it to me I enjoy it just as much as I did 60 years ago and so does my next door neighbour s daughter If you can find a copy of this book it is a delightful story of magic.
