Flat track bullies is a very well written book and the story keeps you hooked till the end It is the story of an 11 year old boy Ravi and his adventures Today kids are expected to multitask and learn a whole lot of things as early as possible in order to stay ahead of others Parents want their kids to excel and do not really see what their child is going through to live up to their expectations We are reminded of how everyone is under constant pressure not because they want themselves to be better but to be better than others to be able to show off Having a younger brother myself I can say that this book exhibits the thought process of a young boy to its truest extent The book is funny full of humour and the use of fruit names in place of cuss words is just epic 9383331003 Flat Track Bullies a phrase derived from Cricket refers to those who enjoy persecuting weaker people but get intimidated on facing real opposition It is the story of Ravi Venkatesan an 11 year old boy who is about to start Middle School after the summer vacation The novel is presented as the pages of a diary written by the protagonist on certain eventful days of the summer break It contains entries about the extremely high expectation of his parents for all round performance getting him enrolled in all types of summer classes sports storytelling and even an introductory IITJEE class for kids his friendship with his housemaid s son which causes him to start bunking those classes and sneaking out to play marbles his relationship with his friendly grandparents and his crush on his classmate Shweta who eventually becomes a confidante and accomplice in his exploits.
