I never realized how much Richard Dean Anderson brought to the role of MacGyver until I read this I knew that he was important and enjoyable but I didn t realize he was CRUCIAL The plot of this series was fine But it all fell a little flat The quips weren t as sharp This was a pale imitation of MacGyver It held my interest but it felt like it was trying to be something it wasn t Macgyver Fugitive Gauntlet I never watched the old MacGyver TV show but I ve seen a couple of episodes of the recent reboot which made me curious about this comic version This was a fun read a bit like the TV show but the story is suited to the comic format I wish there were of these Macgyver Fugitive Gauntlet As a fan of the original series I was looking forward to reading this Alas it is mediocre at best An annoying Mary Sue female character I kept waiting for someone to punch in the face and a plot so inconceivably contrived as to be beyond laughable I d like to say the MacGyverisms were good but they weren t Unbelievable out of place and convenient for the plot s sake This should have worked with the original creator on board but reads like someone who watched a couple episodes of the tv show and wanted to give it a go Well it landed with a thud The artwork is decent but the contrived plot lack of any recognizable characterization and an annoying Mary Sue tells me that this shouldn t be recommended even to the most die hard fans Macgyver Fugitive Gauntlet This was a joke ILL request and it lived down to my expectations.
