Taking a stand on critical issues
Which doesn t seems to happen very often 320 I was first introduced to Rand Paul when he first filibustered I was a supporter of his father This book illustrates his stances on all the major issues In the book he outlines plays to make constitutional amendments to limit the terms of congressmen and senators He also wants a constitutional amendment that will make the congress balance the budget every year He discusses his idea for the largest tax cut in American history Rand Paul sets himself apart from other candidates in the Republican party by first openly criticizing the down parts of the party Many in the party have claimed to conservatives who believe in balanced budgets.

Term Limits He would fight against what Lobbyists had been doing all these years and what the Senate thought was going with the flow He would fight to Audit the Fed and change what career Politician s had been comfortably going along with I cannot give away the whole book but I will tell you that I laughed and cried I hugged the book as Rand came to life in my heart I know that he is no ordinary man Rand Paul stands for people in all walks of life He actually has the courage to change this country and the big government that has gone out of control and become much too complacent with the way things are suppose to run Rand Paul will get rid of the corruption because his beliefs do not hold on to the old ways He is a man for the future Rand Paul is than just a man running for President of the United States He is a man who the people have a chance to vote for once in a lifetime He is the man who will bring America back to Her glory Make no mistake.

I m much impressed with Rand that I thought I would be He has some really good ideas but I always wonder why the crazies beat out the good people in the race for the presidency 320 Why did I read this Because I saw him on Jon Stewart s show and ended up being curious about what he had to say Ultimately the main goal of the book is that he wants to become President of the United States Some of his ideas like a flat tax rate the demilitarization of our police department and term limits are good ones He points out the injustices of big government especially towards minorities and the poor He also points out the failures in the war on drugs and the unfairness of mandatory sentencing laws that have led to outrageous amounts of money spent on prisons and the overcrowding of our prison systems All well and good but his constant Obama bashing set my teeth on edge Obama s presidency has not been perfect but the obstructionist attitude of our legislature has a lot to do with it too From his book he says that he wants to unite our country get beyond partisan politics but this book sounds like of the same old bullshit His chapter on the war on Christians didn t ring true to me and felt like a sell out to the right wing I went into the reading of this book with an open mind but came away saddened that nothing changes with the politics of our elections and the running of our country 320 One of the most well written books in the case of liberty I ve ever read I was an initial convert because of his father but after reading this book I like him than I like his father This is a man who is committed to principles and ideals in a way that does not exist in Washington these days I was a firm supporter of him prior to this and am not a die hard 320 Being a fan of his father Ron Paul has had me interested in Rand since he entered politics While I have yet had the chance to read his older book s Taking a Stand Moving Beyond Partisan Politics to Unite America was a superb book that had me thinking a lot about what Rand was saying This book brought me new hope for America s future and as the other person states in their review how can anyone not stand with Rand I highly recommend this title to anybody and everybody regardless of your political or religious views While he does have a chapter dedicated to Christianity it s not that huge of a part of the book and you can easily still enjoy it and agree what he has to say even about Christianity as an atheist or someone who practices a different religion While Rand may be Republican I also know many Democrats who not only support Rand but have also enjoyed this book so as I said I recommend to this to everyone. Taking a stand synonym Edit I no longer support Dr Paul for presidency due to his flip flopping on issues and becoming Republican However that doesn t change my view on the book and I would still support him if he kept the views he had written in the book 320 I can not count the times I have wanted to shout in agreement with Paul His ideas are so compelling he makes a political platform book exciting to read Good gracious read this book 320 Rand Paul is running for President and like many other Candidates releasing a book at the beginning of the Campaign is a good way to get his messages out and to introduce himself to the voters I d estimate the content of the book as being about one half lambasting Democrats Obama and Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton and the other half trying to explain his political positions on the important issues facing our Country As most of us know Rand was a physician prior to running for the Senate but apparently always had an interest in politics and conservative ideals That probably has a lot to do with family conversations around the dinner table as he grew up since his father has been a long time Congressman Senator Paul also worked on his father s campaigns for Congress and on his runs for President in the past Rand Paul comes across as someone who is likable honest idealistic and willing to fight for his ideas Politicians tend to talk in exaggerated tones and I think Rand Paul showed some tendencies to that in his book Most of his his criticisms of the current Administration were consistent with his Party s positions but he separates himself from the crowded GOP presidential hopefuls in some of his own positions He discusses his policies and recommendations most of which sound good Unfortunately as we ve recently seen with our current president nice ideas for change by first term Senators don t necessarily become policy due to a dysfunctional Congress Speaking of which he s very critical of the performance of Congress as being slow to act and acting for themselves as individuals rather than collectively for the public good So the ideals and proposals he discusses in his book are only indicative of what his vision may be not policies which he could make happen if he were to be elected Among his ideas and proposals are implementing term limits for Congress ending the politicized gerrymandering of congressional districts ending ObamaCare as we know it cracking down on the NSA and enacting novel ideas like Bills being considered by Congress cannot be brought up for vote until Congress has had time to actually read the Bills He proposed a one day wait for every 20 pages in the Bill I doubt that anything will ever come from these ideas but I like what he says about them anyway In terms of foreign policy it s hard to determine how his ideas would be implemented He talks about maintaining a strong military but is against our past practice of pushing out foreign despots and against sending our troops to foreign hotspots My feeling is that he ll urge other Nations to do the right thing and then we won t end up being embroiled in too many foreign entanglements Like any good Republican he wants to reduce taxes across the board and to make up for the loss in revenue wants to reduce spending But as we ve seen that s easier said than done He s for a Balanced Budget Amendment but again that s not something that has moved forward in the past The Senator spends some time discussing his environmental support in the new Republican Party he envisions clean air and clean water will be important However those policies must be balanced against the need for local jobs and the economy He was silent on climate change but he indicates that he s against policies which harm the coal industry which is understandable given the state which sent him to the Senate As far as his medical plan he suggests that the high costs of Medicare can be fixed by enrolling every senior in the same plans that members of Congress enjoy indicating that the Congressional Health Plan provides excellent coverage at a fraction of the costs of Medicare But Medicare deals with our oldest citizens with the highest medical expenses so there s no surprise there And changes to Health Care as we ve seen in the past is a major fight waiting to happen But he tries to maintain a positive attitude in the book and I liked some of his initiatives and his demonstrated willingness to stand up to his own party and willingness to work with like minded individuals whether in his own party or the opposing party I also like his stance on criminal justice reform changing the approach to the war on drugs changing mandatory sentencing addressing voting rights of non violent felons implementing school vouchers and simplifying the tax code Unfortunately all these good ideas and comforting words don t translate to change Maybe if a President was able to use a line item veto some of his ideas if he ever was elected President could be implemented But his idea of simplifying the tax code cutting taxes for all increasing revenue by some magic formula cutting foreign aid to Muslim countries etc. Taking a Stand ebooks free would require Congressional action and support but when it comes to increasing defense spending these conservatives are willing to go into debt instead of cutting other departments As Americans if we start spending money in a particular area having kids then we have to make cuts in other departments going out to eat The government should have to do the same Another important aspect that Paul addresses in this book and that is not talked about by other Republicans is the racial tension in this country Paul is the only candidate going to these poor minority and traditional democratic areas He is being well received He is growing the party by addressing the problems all Americans not just conservative Republicans I believe this is a man who will work with congress and follow the constitution to make America great again 320 If you never bothered to learn about Rand Paul or you just want to learn this is the book for you Every American should read it before voting in 2016 Learn about the man his wife his life as an eye surgeon and becoming a Senator Rand Paul is no ordinary Politician He went into the senate with the intention on doing what a senator was supposed to do That didn t last too long He didn t want to be one of the cronies who saw business as usual and not stepping on toes as to not stir up trouble Rand Paul was going to stir up Washington He began to do things as he saw the people wanted him to He would fight for the people who had voted for him for their rights He would be the man he was even as others were aghast at his determination to change the way the system ran He would fight for against what others would back him on read this book and join me in rejuvenating the energy people get when they are voting for a change that truly is for the betterment of the people You will Stand With Rand because Rand is Taking a Stand He is our hope for the future Rand Paul is the hope for America Read this book and Stand with Rand alongside all good people who care about the future of this great nation 320 A clear well written and inspiring vision on America the world and the GOP It raises only one question how can anyone not stand with Rand 320 This was a very good book While it is a little self serving I guess it has to be if the guy is was running for president he really addresses many current issues in reasonable ways It was very readable and pointed out a number of problems in government that need fixing I d like to see him attack some of them from his Senate seat 320
