Considering this is not the first book to have an animal s POV The story moved quickly and was adequate for something to read while killing time in a garage waiting for my car to be repaired and or on a lunch break at work The frequent reminders of the main character s past dating encounters seemed heavy handed and almost a little like shaming That got annoying Edie Ramer Good bookYou people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so Shelley MA Edie Ramer what a unique and cute story Can t but love all the characters I love how she incorporated the animals in the story Because like the main characters says your pets are not just pets but family as well Definitely can t wait to read the next book Edie Ramer Edie is funnier on the page than in real life A USA Today bestselling author.

It has a damaged H that gets a six year old daughter he doesn t know spoiler ex wife cheated not his child And he needs someone to watch the little girl while he is at work In steps the crazy aunt who has the perfect women The h designs cat furniture and the H owns a furniture company I loved the fact that the dog and cats talk to each other Minnie the older cat is a riot giving out advice and making comments that her mom doesn t understand Minnie is wise beyond her years she reminded me of Sassy from Homeward Bond love that movie Minnie decides the only way to get her Mom and the H together is to run away from home. Take two cats a dog and a determined womanAnimal lover Abby Pimm isn t looking for love With two rescue cats one rescue dog and a struggling business and her fourteen year old sister to raise she s got her hands full What she needs is an angel though she ll settle for the devil if he ll invest in her fledgling company and keep it afloat Add a six year old girlWealthy businessman Holden Ramsay is no devil He s doing all the right things and when he s forced to care for his ex s six year old daughter he ends up hiring Abby as a temporary sitter a woman who lights up his damaged heart and perks up other organs as well A woman who might be his redemptionor his downfall Who s rescuing who The animals that Abby rescued think maybe it s time they do a little rescue work of their own because sometimes humans in love can be so dense Hearts in Motion Rescued Hearts 1 I would normally be hard pressed to give a romance 5 I read 3 really tough books before this one So the sweet romance A little girl 3 cats and a dog who all have a voice in this story this book for me was the perfect afternoon escape It is well edited fast and fun Give it a shot WaAr Edie Ramer Hearts in Motion is a fun fast paced romance In Hearts in Motion we meet Abby and Holden Abby has been raising her sister since their parents died and she is struggling to make a go of the cat furniture business she has with a friend Abby is fun and optimistic but at the same time she is realistic When Holden s aunt asks her to look after Cara Holden s daughter for 2 weeks she does it first for the income but it soon becomes all Cara Abby and her pets fall under Cara s sweet spell Holden is business minded serious trying to save his family furniture s business engaged to an appropriate woman and has no idea what to do with Cara who s grandparents have dropped her off and left He knows Abby from years ago when she briefly dated his brother and it looks like he s going to get to know her a bit since she s looking after Cara Before too long though Holden is feeling things for Abby he certainly does not feel for his fianc e Abby is feeling things for Holden toobut he s off limits or is he His fianc e has a big secret the love is not there and he feels so good when he s with Abby and Cara and he just might be able to help with her business The animals are meddling toothey think it s time for Abby to settle down and Holden might be just the man for her The animals might be the smartest ones after all Holden and Abby are opposites that certainly attract They are going to be very good for each other if they can find a way to take a chance on each other Cara is so sweet she is a little girl that sure pulls at your heart and she might be the best thing for both of them I loved reading both Holden and Abby s point of views seeing how they both think and feel Holden is so confused and torn wanting to do the right thing Abby is frustrated by Holden at times and very protective of Cara Abby s sister Grace isn t as involved in the story as Abby Holden and Cara but she is definitely part of it and it is refreshing to read about a good teenage girl The animals and their conversations are a great funny part of the story I really enjoyed them They add a unique aspect to Hearts in Motion. Hearts in motionusa com site_link Hearts in Motion is several good ideas and several bad ideas crammed into one mediocre book Listen up authors you need a good editor And I don t mean a beta reader or two ladies from your writers group I mean you need a real professional editor I feel like I m making the same comment on a lot of reviews lately lacks focus needs editing You cannot cram 20 ideas into one book and make it work Abby Pimm makes custom cat furniture with her partner Sam Sam as is pointed out to us several times is actually a woman And a lesbian NOT THAT THERE S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT as Abby would say We ll get back to that Their business is struggling because they re doing too well and they can t afford to expand and apparently also because of reasons they need an angel investor because I guess actual bank loans don t exist in this world That s never really addressed Presumably if you have a business that successful banks would want to give you money but maybe banks are worried that the bottom will fall out of the luxury cat furniture market in these uncertain times Holden Ramsey owns a furniture company that has left his family wealthy but now the business is struggling because imports from China have knocked out a chunk of the market Additionally his long lost daughter has been left on his doorstep by her unfeeling grandparents Except she s not really his daughter because his wife was unfaithful to him but he agreed to let her put his name on the birth certificate anyway for reasons that are vague at best Holden is engaged to Portia who was sorority sisters with Abby s partner Sam and in this context sorority sisters apparently means secret lesbians Holden needs a babysitter for his fake daughter Cara for a couple weeks and luckily his aunt Daisy happens to know that Abby is free because she bought some custom cat furniture from her and also because apparently they kept in touch after Abby dated Holden s younger brother Ryan in college Abby agrees to watch Cara because she needs the money because of how broke she is due to her business doing too well I guess Abby has two cats a foster kitten and a dog They talk Well They talk to each other Frankly the animals talking is way realistic than most of the unlikely coincidences of everyone knowing everyone As you can hopefully see this book takes a number of premises and attempts to mesh them all into one rather disjointed story The characters behavior seems erratic at best and their relationships are frankly rather strange Aunt Daisy sets Abby up with Ryan even though they dated before and no one including Ryan and Abby thinks that they should be together However this allows Ryan to learn about Abby s furniture business and also about how his brother s fianc e is apparently a secret lesbian He attempts to talk his brother into supporting Abby s business but gets shot down and in retaliation tells his brother he should spy on Portia but won t tell him why Because of reasons Later Holden figures out that Portia is a secret lesbian but we don t really know how and then he and Abby admit they have feelings for each other but that they should wait until after he breaks up with Portia to do anything about it And then they have sex on the next page because waiting is for suckers I guess Eventually the animals decide that the best way to help their mom is via mysterious plan that the cat Minnie thinks about several times in the book but is never explained until it turns out to be running away to Holden s which they accomplish by following the smell of his car s exhaust apparently Listen if I understood the motivation for any of the motivations for the actions of any of the characters this book would have been improved significantly But leaving all of that aside I STILL have issues All of the scenes where anybody being a lesbian comes up are almost unbearably awkward and seem to simultaneously struggle with feeling tinged with just a little bit of homophobia while screaming NOT THAT THERE S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT I am going to give the author the benefit of the doubt on that one and go with awkwardness being the issue not bigotry The use of the animals is also just weird as they really only discuss two things whether mom will end up homeless and they ll all starve OR how Abby and Holden should just have sex already because they smell like they want to mate The phrase mating smell is used a lot and it s just super super weird This book has a lot of issues but I genuinely believe it had the ability to be a good book Like my review which is now too long it needs to be pared down and edited for clarity Disclaimer I received a free copy of this book for review Edie Ramer What a fun sweet romance The cover of this book is very fitting for the story of Hearts in Motion I have read several book by Edie and each one I read gets better Maybe not better because all her books are great but different than the last In Hearts in Motion we are introduced to Abby and Holden Two people I would never put together you will see in the beginning of the story but turned out so perfect for one another Holden is a very serious businessman and Abby is a very lively woman who says what is on her mind which is awesome I love a story with kids and animals in it and this one had both They bring such a different feel to the story. Kingdom hearts motion sickness Edie always writes such emotion into her books I love that I really feel what the characters are feeling as though I am there with them Her characters are well developed and the plot is always interesting and engaging Not only did we get to read from Holden and Abby s point of view but also from Abby s pets If you are looking for a sweet romance that pulls at your heartstrings and gives you a wonderful happy ever after I highly recommend Hearts in Motion Edie Ramer This story was super cute I m a huge fan of romances and a huge fan of books where the reader gets to see inside a pet s head particularly a cat s This book combined the two beautifully I loved the characters in this book They all had their own personalities and well fleshed out And together they make an interesting hodge podge Abby lives with her sister Grace who she has been a parent two for the last 9 years since their parents passed away Abby owns a cat furniture business with her friend Sam and they have been desperately searching for investors to allow them to move the business to the next level Holden is the owner of Eagleton Furniture a company that s slowly being beaten out by the cheaper furniture manufactured overseas He and his brother Ryan have been trying to think of ideas to give them an edge Holden is also in a loveless engagement with a woman who is the opposite of his ex wife Enter Cara Holden s 6 year old non daughter whose grandparents dropped her on Holden s doorstep and ran inadvertently releasing her from a loveless existence and he finds himself thrown together with Abby an unexpected ray of sunshine in his otherwise dull and dreary world who agrees on bequest of Holden s aunt to babysit Cara during the day while Holden is working to save his company after all she needs the money Last but not least are Minnie Quigley Lion and Epic cat cat dog and kitten respectively rescues that Abby has taken in This book is told from the alternating perspectives of Abby Holden and the pets particularly Minnie the oldest and smartest of the animals and the one having been with Abby the longest As an added bonus Ryan and Abby have a past which includes one brief encounter between Abby and Holden 10 years ago Put all of this together and you get a lot of swirling emotions that Abby and Holden aren t exactly sure what to do with especially with his being engaged to Portia who is also an old sorority sister of Sam s This book is an adventure as we watch Holden learning to become a parent Abby falling in love with Cara Cara discovering a whole new world of love and laughter Holden and Abby attempting to sort through the feelings they have for each other and the pets determination to intercede when they suspect Abby might possibly make the wrong choice This book packs plenty of emotions and scenes that will tug at your heart strings It features a HEA ending with no cliffhanger Overall this book was excellent and I cannot wait to read book 2 Christmas at Angel Lake as a part of Must Love Pets A Romance Box Set Edie Ramer First let me say Watership Down was one of my favorite childhood books narrated exclusively by various rabbits And I loved The Rats of NIMH. Hearts in motion book author Most of the book is pretty standard The heroine Abby Pimm was orphaned at a young age taking care of her sister works hard but just needs an influx of capital to make her company take off Holden Ramsey is rich who married on impulse once but now guards his heart too carefully He needs the heroine s help just for two weeks Of course they ll fall in love before the end but both are stubborn and need some nudging. Hearts in motion parent portal There are whole chapters narrated by the heroine s animals two cats and a dog named Lion One of the book s main POVs is a Siamese cat Otherwise it seemed like a good enough storyline Cliched perhaps but a good enough read But the cat POV kind of stopped me cold. Hearts in motion book author I m an animal person and like having dogs and cats as characters furthering the action But not narrating it for me to help me understand or further the plot Found myself trying to skip those chapters but you can t if you want to understand the whole story There s like plot that only the Siamese has figured out So you need to listen to her or you get lost Argh. Hearts in motion new hope oahu I did finish the book but won t be reading from this author If the idea of animal POVs doesn t bother you try this as its well written otherwise I m going to find something else to get my dog fix Edie Ramer What a sweet book.
