The walkers from the cryptvirus The other complaint I would note is the nature of the undead which don t appear to have much horror or dread in them neither their descriptions or the characters reactions showed much to cause fear of them This might be caused by the apparent regular exposure to living dead that that part of the world has which is fine as a worldbuilding concept but lessens the impact as an antagonist The story itself is very nice no too epic in proportions but a nice side story like affair I liked the visualization and descriptions when they were there As an introduction to the characters and location it does a good job as a short story on its own its fine too It has gotten me interested to check out Plague of Shadows the novel that follows so it served me well as a started into the world of Golarion ebook A quick little tale to whet the appetite for I read this and other Pathfinder Tales with the sole goal in mind to see whether or not I would like reading the novels by the same authors And to sample and see if the audiobook would be worth continuing onto.
