Book the walkers from the cryptic
Elyana is an elven adventurer devoted to helping innocents escape the madness of revolutionary Galt Together with her band of bold human companions she is a powerful force for freedom and one that many Galtan leaders would happily see tied up at the bottom of a guillotine When one of their allies is gravely injured it s up to Elyana and the wizard Arcil to buy time by leading the enemy on a wild chase into the dark depths of the Verduran Forest Yet there may be than anyone expects lurking beneath the forest s twisted boughs and evils even greater than Galtan necromancers waiting to be awakened From Howard Andrew Jones celebrated author of Plague of Shadows comes a story of undeath and redemption set in the award winning world of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and featuring characters from Plague of Shadows The Walkers from the Crypt Pathfinder Tales A bit too rushed with some characters appearing so quickly you d be best advised not to blink Also there s no crypt quite a few towers though Still a relaxing read ebook Decent little short story revolving around correcting a ghost s long standing error ebook I ve only recently gotten into Pathfinder and this is the first story I ve read from that universe It s nice varied and fittingly concise for its format The pacing especially as mentioned in another review is very well done with enough character building decent amounts of world detailing and action spread about It s the action I was least excited about as it dropped much of the visuals in favor of a faster narrative and so lost some of the impact it otherwise could have had I m a fan of powerful magic in my fantasy and it did deliver in spades on that front. The walkers from the cryptvirus The other complaint I would note is the nature of the undead which don t appear to have much horror or dread in them neither their descriptions or the characters reactions showed much to cause fear of them This might be caused by the apparent regular exposure to living dead that that part of the world has which is fine as a worldbuilding concept but lessens the impact as an antagonist The story itself is very nice no too epic in proportions but a nice side story like affair I liked the visualization and descriptions when they were there As an introduction to the characters and location it does a good job as a short story on its own its fine too It has gotten me interested to check out Plague of Shadows the novel that follows so it served me well as a started into the world of Golarion ebook A quick little tale to whet the appetite for I read this and other Pathfinder Tales with the sole goal in mind to see whether or not I would like reading the novels by the same authors And to sample and see if the audiobook would be worth continuing onto. Book the walkers from the crypt pdf This one was tricker than some others though as I had a hard time with the narrator Dina Perlman She actually does a really good job as always but something about her sound equipment is just a frustrating mess She does the voices well has a compelling narrative voice but everything sounds like it was recorded in a bubble made of plywood underwater The five star rating is for Howard Andrew Jones a genius practitioner of New Edge Sword and Sorcery modern sword and sorcery classics but with a twist Read his Ring sworn trilogy From what I ve read so far it is brilliant and has a better equiped narrator. Historical fiction the walkers from the cryptic world These pathfinder tales are a treasure Also Steve West narrates the amazing Beyond the Pool of Stars by Howard Andrew Jones that I need to get around to reviewing Find authors you love and show them your love people ebook
