This is definitely short but packed a punch Jared Rackler wove a world in a few words The setting is complex and ornate and he gave just a small glimpse into it The characters were interesting and there was definitely to them then this short story could do justice to Torquere s moniker of A Sip is exactly what this short story was It definitely whet my interest This was a superb short and I look forward to seeing from Mr Rackler who is obviously much than a pretty face and talented graphic artist He can now officially add talented author to the mix Jared Rackler This is an amazing debut I really must give credit where it s due I d debated on buying this book for almost three weeks before I simply just closed my eyes and hit my one click ending the debate I have zero regrets Even though this is a mere piece of flash fiction it s one of the best things I ve ever read Jared has the potential to be a literary god between the description and detailing the reader will see and feel everything from the heat of the open brazier to the pleasure of Rune s affections Even the frost of Nikos breathe sent a chill down my spine Jared has an amazing way to put what he sees into the reader s head so vividly it s a feat I haven t experienced in a while and it s always a welcomed sight when I do find a gem. The Celestine roomza Rune is practical as well but readily admits that he loves Nikos and isn t resigned to live apart from his necromancer He knows that Nikos loves him but he also hears the man s denial Rune doesn t believe him when he says that their forbidden union is inevitable When Rune has the opportunity to once again seduce Nikos he does so with a mixture of grace consideration and raw passion that almost made me cry The love between them is palpable even with all the obvious barriers Rune is determined not to let his former lover wallow in denial Once he attempts to make Nikos admit his deepest desires and most passionate dreams Now that there s a truce and that they are no longer enemies Rune once again invites Nikos to bond with him and live openly with him forever.
