The first thing I noticed when scanning through the contributors was the number of familiar names The second was how many of them are women and it s wonderful Often you have to read best by women anthologies to get this sort of representation so it s awesome to see it in a by merit best anthology. The stories are extremely varied most wonderfully weird A couple of them I just didn t get because they were leaning too much towards experimental writing but it s a strong collection It s always great to read Australian works but this really is a world class anthology 494
