Zombie Cruise is twenty five pages long Ms Eldridge paints a gruesome picture of an infected cruise ship packed with zombies Brenda drunk from the night before wakes up to a little girl in her cabin who begs for help Michelle is crying because her mother is very sick Brenda follows the little girl back to her cabin and learns her mother has much than the flu Soon zombies stagger about as Brenda and Michelle run through a maze of decks and hallways trying to escape A few passengers who weren t infected have a lifeboat station going I will not ruin the ending but it s probably not what you think My review I m already a fan of Ms Eldridge s and really liked this story The details were gory the pacing was just right and the effortless transitions never had me wonder where the characters were or where they were going Even though it s a short story the author still managed to give us quite a bit about Brenda s personality Ms Eldridge also knew when to fuse in some humor The ending to me was very Freudian I would highly recommend this as a fun short zombie apocalyptic read This is a real flesh eating treat 5 5 Stars Zombie Cruise Zombie Vacations 1 Brenda Lawson was on a great getaway cruise away from the hustle of 9 to 5 days it was fun until a little girl woke her up and told her her mother was sick and she needed help Brenda did what anyone would do she got up and went to check you are thrown into action The main character Brenda is startled awake by a young terrified girl and it all goes down hill from there They are in the middle of the ocean on a cruise ship surrounded by the living dead Pretty exciting and terrifying right I thought so The storyline is easy to follow and the author describes the ensuing chaos pretty well making it easy to picture what s going on At times the story felt a little clich but not overly so I enjoyed the references to the Titantic and the main characters drive to keep this little girl safe There were a few minor editing mistakes but not enough to make me want to stop reading The ending was a twist I honestly didn t expect but it did leave me desiring a different outcome Overall it was a quick easy read and I would recommend this to someone who enjoys reading about zombies and is looking for a light read Zombie Cruise Zombie Vacations 1 3.
