I remember really loving the first two and unfortunately I wasn t as emotionally invested in this one because I forgot what happened in those books and in this book I was kind of mad at Jodi because Hades was kinda right about things but whatever Kelly s books are pretty fun to read Paperback I really enjoyed this last book in the Touch of death series There was so much going on in Face of Death and all the little loose ends were tried up nicely Throughout the book I didnt know what way it was going to end would Jodi leave the Ophi behind would she leave Alex behind You will have to read the book to see what happens. Face of death mystery book I love Kellys writing and cant wait to read from her Paperback Overall the entire series was good I had some problems with the characters pacing and physical descriptions But the plot was interesting and kept me turning the pages until the very end I am a fan of Greek mythology mostly retelling s of Persephone s story so it was nice to have a change of scenery and read a different type of Greek mythology I am not so sure that I would recommend this series unless you are patient and willing to give the series some time The rest of my review for Face of Death can be found at Paperback Jodi and the other Ophi are being tortured by Hades She needs to find a way to get out of his realm Being the leader of the Ophi and thinking outside the box she does something very difficult very unexpected She splits her soul the Ophi half staying in Hades and the human one inside a deceased body on Earth She needs this body to carry out a plan to release herself and her friends from Hades clutches. Face of death wow She encounters a lot of emotional pain Hades has a way of turning everyone against her even when she means well since he s manipulative In human form she rekindles a romance with a human boy She doesn t want to do this since Alex her current boyfriend is trapped in Hades Just like her soul is split her heart is too This last book in this series is intense The business of Hades raising souls and being a necromancer made for a great story Also Jodi was a well rounded character in both Ophi and human form She was caring and ambivalent with all the tough decisions she had to make This was a wonderful end to this paranormal series Paperback Do you know what the wort part about dying at seventeen is It s not missing out on graduation or going to college It s missing out on being in love I never got to experience the kind of love my mom said only teens can have The kind that consumes you Makes you do stupid crap and you don t even care because someone else thinks you re the greatest thing on Earth. Face of death 4 5 STARS Paperback Jodi is about to face some serious decisions Face of Death picks up right where the previous book left off Being the leader of the Ophi and they are in the Underworld Not dead but stuck at the mercy of Hades After being tortured for a while they are getting desperate Jodi needs to get them out of the Underworld she feels like she is responsible for her friends being there and being tortured The only way to do it is to split her human soul from her Ophi soul She will be living in the Underworld being tortured as well as human trying to figure this out This leads to Jodi having to choose between living a human life or an Ophi life Can she have an normal life Can she leave her friends in the Underworld There are a lot of decisions Jodi has to make in this one She is forced to choose between human and Ophi Matt and Alex life and death Hades is ruthless He goes after the ones Jodi loves to get her back to the Underworld People will die and Jodi will never be the same. Death race cast Alex is still the knight in shining armor He is always there for Jodi and helps here when her souls are split It is difficult for Jodi when she was human and Ophi when her soul was split She had all her old feelings back and could see her mom without worrying about killing her She could have a normal life again Can she choose between them I liked how the book ended I thought it was a good ending to the story Not perfect but how could it be after everything that happens I think that is what Jodi learns you can t have everything you want in life and things aren t going to be perfect When you are responsible for an entire race of people you have to make sacrifices Paperback Genre YA Paranormal Rating 3. Face of death full book Face of Death is the final installment in the Face of Death trilogy Previously Jodi learned that she s a part of a branch of necromancers born under the 13th sign of the zodiac called Ophiuchus and therefore had to leave her human life behind for the sake of everyone she loves The Ophi are a branch of necromancers that are descendants of Medusa Necromancers that have poisoned blood writhing in their veins that can kill humans with one drop because it is toxic and deadly. In the face of death meaning Jodi has come across on than a few occasions as TSTL and she once again makes silly mistakes that lead to severe consequences Whenever I read a trilogy I look for character development in that they actually grow in strength and courage and not remain with their heads up their behinds Jodi found herself in a leadership position of the Ophi when she Alex and others like Tony Arianna McKenzie Lexi Ethan Carson and Jared decided to overthrow Victoria Tony and send them to Hades Jodi as lead character has a good heart in that she genuinely cares about those around her She would love nothing than to succeed so that the Ophi can live in peace without Hades evil machinations which just grated my nerves and make me bite my tongue on than a few occasions If you are looking for the romance angle to the story then look no further than the twisted convoluted 3 way triangle that includes Alex Matt who has suffered way to much for one person to bear and yes even the psycho Chase who tore Jodi s world a part in Stalked by Death Face of Death is a different sort of story because Jodi really is given a choice between becoming human once again and being with Matt or remaining Ophi and being with Alex In the end Face of Death has than a few surprise guests whose participation is key to Jodi and the Ophi s very survival and return to world above I liked that Jodi had a chance to reunite with her mother who was sick with worry after Jodi disappeared for her mothers own sake I liked that this is on the edge and a bit darker in that you never know what Hades is going to come up with next in order to hold onto Jodi and grab her soul and power I would have liked to have of Medusa s participation up and including the ending but what we have is perfectly acceptable Released January 7th 2014 by Spencer Hill Press Paperback A challenging read Her two worlds are collidingShe will have to make the toughest decision she s faced yetFirstly I loved the ending although I wished there was an epilogue. Face of death 4 5 Stars Last books in a series or trilogies are so hard They are hard to read because you know they will be bittersweet sometimes hard to say goodbye too and sometimes even hard to write a review for As I sit here and write this review I find myself with something that doesn t happen very often I find myself at a loss for words This series has been quite the journey One full of all things mystical mythilogical and magical Some good and some bad as all series go Some things that I loved about it and others coughlovetrianglecough that I didn t And because of these hard things I don t really know where to begin I really liked the direction this was going other than the slight hiccup of a love triangle in book two that thankfully worked itself out I thought it would be smooth sailing from here That all my questions would be answered and everything would come together nicely and neatly. Face of boe death episode That didn t exactly happen instead Hathway threw in another curve ball As if being banished to Tartus itself and dealing with Hades wasn t bad enough she had to throw in another love triangle of sorts Now before all you love triangle haters start rolling your eyes and groaning trust me I did too know that this one sort of makes sense It goes with what is going on with the story and as much as I didn t like it I could see it and feel it and I understood it I understood that it was something Jodi s character needed to do in order to grow stronger and in order to put some past wrongs right. Face of death collection And the best thing about it all was that Jodi was still as fierce strong and brave as always She never faltered in her ability to prove why she was the Chosen One She is a capable leader and one that loves her friends with all she has She isn t afraid to put herself in danger to help someone else out and she isn t afraid to admit when she is wrong and when she has made mistakes Best of all this still had all the stuff I liked from the first book and even from the second Overall I think this was a great conclusion to the trilogy that held true to all three books the plot and the characters Paperback
