While I did enjoy this book it did have some issues It seems disjointed and jumpy at times but knowing that this book was submitted as part of a contest and written over the course of a month I can overlook some of the issue of how it flows or lack there of in parts At the end of the book it felt like this was of a brief introduction towards the bigger story and that it was rushed to wrap it up to complete the story for this first book I m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series to see how the story continues and to see if with time to write the book the flow and development of the story are better in the second installment of the series Brandice Snowden When reading Demon s Veil.

I had to force me to keep on It was an incredible boring read for me At the end I skim read most of the second half Characters and plot are full of holes and there s no plausibility to the story Characters Cardboard figures without much consistency The leading lady is a bleeding heart super powerful woman who keeps acting with no much sense She submits to a meaningless blackmail and you wonder why She destroys her life for people she barely knows As a reader I need a very strong commitment to a character to accept foolishness Her team is composed of soldiers coming from special units It s granted that these people are very loyal But for no reason at all.

The characters are fantastic Each very unique from one another. Demon's Veil pdf reader As the story progress the determine Darnell is up to something but never figure out what until the very end and even then it is never fully explained Raziel who pops up to kill the group also is never explained in this book Normally these facts would have dropped the book lower in my opinion but I am hoping things will be better explained in the next books so I am giving room for that. You have to open your mind up because the logical part of your brain takes over and the scenes of magic and the supernatural won t make sense You have to read it with the right side of your brain and an open heart Then it s an incredible story that will draw you in and send you into another world Demon s Veil did just that for me Believe it or not I got so lost in the story I was unaware of my surroundings and forgot what room of the house I was in If you read my reviews before you know I don t give spoilers however you will enjoy the characters and the plot lots of depth twists and turns it s quite the adventure The last few pages really really pulled at my heart strings that I felt that aching squeeze in my chest Now THAT is great writing You are going to have to find out for yourselves so please read Demon s Veil Brandice Snowden Provided by Netgalley and Curiosity Quills Press for an honest review To be honest this book was a struggle to read for me I mean it has the supernatural and adventure in it but it did absolutely nothing for me. Demon veil release date But that was where my likes ended Overall I felt the plot was confusing and rushed Half the time I didn t understand how the characters got from point A to point B Decisions were made haphazardly I still don t understand why the veils need to be closed or why they were opened in the first place. Demon's Veil paranormal witness The characters were one dimensional I saw an attempt made to make the characters deeper but I did not see it to fruition Marie had her walls up Delgado loved his wife and Johnson was protective The only character I felt had depth was Kieron But it was pretty typical fae like character we see in fantasy books It also felt like the author was telling us the story rather than showing us the emotions and personalities of the characters I want to be able to feel the characters relate to their story But I couldn t find anything to connect with the characters. Demon's Veil paranormal tales Their relationships were even confusing How did they go from not knowing each other to seeing each other as family It was rushed and I didn t feel the emotions from their relationships Marie and Johnson like each other but I don t feel any passion in their relationship It was flat. Demon veil champ I had a lot of problems with the writing style also The writing felt choppy to me about 80 percent of the time I also had an issue with Cassandra and her accent Every other word was spelled wrong or had an apostrophe in it I had to read her sentences at least 3 times to understand it When writing accents we have to be careful that we are not trying to be overly authentic because we do not read or write the same way as we talk. Demon's veilf farm Unique magical and incredible I don t know why there were a lot of low ratings for this book on Goodreads Granted there were a few mistakes here and there but they were nothing major Personally I really enjoyed it It s one of those books which require a leap of faith rather than logic It s about simply letting your imagination go where the story leads you rather than trying to understand where it s leading or if it s even going somewhere I find that this is an effective mindset when reading a fantasy genre where logic isn t so useful. Demon's Veil pdf reader First off I find the story line really unique While it s not the first story to feature a government facility using paranormal experts in field operations it s certainly unique in the sense that you just don t know where the whole story is going Plus it was really interesting to see how trust and respect for each other developed among the characters There was definitely a development in the relationship of the characters and I really liked this. EPub Demon's veiled experts Second I also love the characters in this story Marie is the standard noble idiot but she s also a strong leader and she knows her stuff I love that there was distrust among her teammates at the beginning but she knew just what to do to earn their respect and loyalty I also really liked Delgado and his wife Cassandra I think that it was really creative of the author to come up with Delgado and Cassandra and their unusual gift Oh and Kieron I love him He s awesome As for Johnson I can t make up my mind about him He seems a little off in my opinion I was expecting from him. Demon's veil epub download If the book or the series will be for you it ll depend on your taste and your personal history with UF I kept reading this book as a thank you to the publisher for accepting my request of a ARC Because I found the writing flat and the story very bland except her word they shed this loyalty as a cat shed his fur In the first pages The evil villain was the worst of all well the demon was head to head on the race A super evil villain of a super evil organization who spills his secret on the pillow Sure That s why you are still so secret Plot There are two blackmailing moment Both of them seemed absolutely fake to me First A secret organization wouldn t want any publicity So a trial for murder is a no no They didn t threat her life but of a homicide trial of her fallen comrades But if they were covert op how could they be involved Same with the second Life and freedom would mean the world to any sane person But she has no qualm to give them up to save her team s careers WTF She barely knows them And we re not talking of livesbut careersWriting I m sorry I found it terribly flat It s didactic at times literally teaching a lesson a page and meandering We should be in a race against enemies to catch a powerful object and there s nothing on for chapters The entire book is a set up only of the story of the characters But you get to the end of it and wonder where s my story ARC courtesy of publisher via NetGalley Brandice Snowden Alright first off I must say that I am likely being a bit generous in my rating of this book 3. Demon's Veil epub reader 5 is accurate I know many did not care much for this book and while I admit there is room for improvement Brandice Snowden did a good job to create a unique situation and mixed it with some excellent characters. Demon's veilhan This book has a good mix of characters Marie is the main character we start of with She is a witch of sorts Morgan Johnston is another top character Military man with a tough past to cope with but of strong resolve Some other Characters include Delgado and his wife Milana who both have huge hearts Keiron is another we meet He is BY FAR my favorite He is human fey crossbreed and how I wish I can see a picture of him He is described as possessing an unearthly beauty and has Asian looking amethyst colored eyes that almost glow like a poisonous viper He is funny witty and smart He is a hacker be profession Plus he literally had me laughing a couple times with things he says So there are the Good Guys. Demon's veilhan Now the bad There is Ralph the military insert word of choice here who I cannot stand Darnell the Director and boss in charge of most of the characters He bored me overall and didn t seem to have a lot of depth plus his end game never fully makes sense And finally Cassandra She is the wild card who tries to play by her own rules The author does a great job conveying her accent Almost too good When she talks she has a great voice in my head but my eyes feel strained trying to read all the apostrophes Here is an example Ye never send er team out wit t information ye ave Truth be tol ye are a bit miserly when it comes t sharing information So basically Marie and her team are set up like pieces on a chessboard with Darnell playing one side and A mystery man Raziel who we don t hear much of on the other But these pawns have minds and moves of their own to make Also this reminded me a bit like Indiana Jones for part of it as well So being that I love the Indiana Jones movies it added that much to the story here The first half of the book I really liked a lot Great pace with well developed characters The only odd thing is they never fully question each other It is a near blind trust of each other which is a bit hard to accept I would have liked seeing some internal battle or trust issue but no Also everyone is very confident in their chooses Never any doubt or second guessing which makes it a little unreal Otherwise.
