So I pick up a suspense novel I chose Deviate by Sally Slayer and let me tell you I m still a little wrapped up in the story Cleo has been on the run her entire life but never knew it After the death of her father and then a few years later her mother she learns that she s a product of strange events It took me about 9 or 10 chapters to really get into the book but when I did it was quite interesting At first I was extremely confused because the author jumps ahead weeks and years without any transitions so I had to re read a few things It wasn t until around chapter 8 that I started to understand the plot The further the story continued the I became invested.

Fantasy This book starts out really strange It jumps all over the place and I had no idea what was going on There was a lot of intriguing things happening but it was very odd Apparently Cleo was genetically experimented on when her mother was pregnant with her and because of that she sees her guardian angel in a mirror That is all I could gather for seven chapters I think the developing and pacing of this story needs work The plot is interesting but it doesn t quite come together perfectly It is a quick read and it held my interest I couldn t get a feel for the characters as they weren t fleshed out enough and needed developing also 3 stars Review by Kami Bryant of www.
