I loved this book as well as the whole series The chemistry was off the charts what woman could resist Carter I would recommend this book to everyone It s short steamy and full of romance Cassi Carver Thank you Netgalley and Publsiher for granting me a review copy Find reviews on No Bent SpinesREVIEWThis was my first book by Cassi Carver It wasn t especially what I expected In the third installment of this series we have an heiress fleeing an abusive relationship and falling into the protective arms of ex marine turned rancher Carter Both of these two people have things they re running from and things and people they re running to One is hopeful and one has lost all hope One thinks himself to be irredeemable and one thinks herself to be broken But with each other with the forbidden danger and heat they re something different Something OHMIGOD THEY RE LIKE PHEONIXS squeals I adore those things y all EEEPS Ha ha Okay so I thought this book was okay No it s not going to make the world stop It s not going to change my view of something or someone It s not going to make me laugh or cry but it was a decent read I think the main thing I wanted from this book was just The explanations weren t very well explanatory One thing for me that I found a bit odd was I fall for literally all fictional boys in some way shape or form especially cowboys I mean swoon 2 y all It s just how it is But with Carter I felt like I didn t really know him enough to fall for him I wanted to know of his story and shrugs I just needed I wasn t able to form an attachment to the characters Overall this was a fine read but not something I ll be re reading Jackie Cassi Carver It was pretty good except for a few plot holes Her ex shows up knowing she s being protected by a combat Marine Oh and just when her protector happens to be out of the house Then Carolyn is begging in her head for Carter to ask her to stayhe does then she asks him a million questions as to why he wants her to stay He finally asks you to stay admits he s crazy about you and you question him Don t even get me started on her showing up at a ranch with nothing but high heels C mon now Cassi Carver 3. If you not love me com Cassi Carver Absolutely wonderful the best in the entire series The romance between the two leads was very sweet and the central conflict was excellent and for once not brought about because one of the leads was being stupid Loved it Cassi Carver Cassi Carver has become one of my favorite authors Her ability to create characters that are likable fun and real has kept me coming back for This story opens with a couple of laugh out loud moments that immediately caught my attention and drew me into this entertaining novella This is a hot and sexy read with a bit of drama that kept me engaged from beginning to end Although this is the third hot book from The Ashford Legacy series it can be read as a standalone. Do you want me book Carolyn Ashford is a great character because she has a lot of determination and does not let the past get in the way of her future She is on the cusp of being a recognized high end clothes designer instead of just a member of the very wealthy Ashford family Her ex husband is dangerous and almost killed her over money so she is hiding out on her soon to be sister in law s best friend s ranch until the financial aspect of her divorce is finalized West Texas is a far cry from the New York City lifestyle as Carolyn soon finds out and begins to enjoy. Urban fantasy if you love me tell me Former Marine Carter Halston is a hunk of a cowboy and bodyguard He has a heart of gold and because he has a few fond memories of growing up on his family s land he is working diligently to expand the ranch now that it belongs to him As a favor to his best friend he agrees to keep Carolyn safe for a short while and even teach her a little bit about self defense Carter lives with a lot of guilt and regret from his time in the war and Carolyn s presence happens to be a wonderful distraction She ends up helping him deal with his demons and nightmares.
