The last three or four chapters were MUCH better than the first two but the fact that the book was only able to provide further reading lists rather than citations for each statement frustrated me a bit I m guessing this was due to the demands of the house style of the series though rather than the author s decision But overall a good read Katie Stevenson Katie Stevenson s Power and Propaganda Scotland 1306 1488 is very well written reads rather quickly and packs quite a bit of information in 214 pages I particularly liked how Stevenson structured the chapters around coherent themes as they applied to propaganda in medieval Scotland I suspect this book may be difficult to read for individuals that are not familiar with medieval Scotland its royalty and nobles and its relationship with France England and Catholicism Katie Stevenson
