But I wish they had made this one volume or had focused their efforts on translating the Hiroshi Ueda series that is way intriguing than anything else they ve brought over for the series minus the Anthologies Paperback This volume continues with the rest of the novelization of the movie From this point on the material is new and different from the manga series Tiger Bunny are teamed up and sent on their first mission together Much is made of the antagonism between the two and the whole Hero TV cast is included I must say I was happy with the attention Rock Bison was given as he is my favourite We are briefly introduced to Bunny s conflict about his parents and the movie ends with the implication that they may start to get along someday.

Side B is a continuation of Side A Wouldn t it be better to just have one long volume instead of 2 volumes This is really action packed and is a quick read Most of it didn t really stick with me but I really enjoyed the part where Barnaby rescued the father and son and told the father to stay closeby his son because he s the only one he s got It shows that he still thinks alot of his parents even though they left this world when he was so young Again I stress that I need to see this movie now that I have read these corresponding mangas This volume was provided to me as an eManga by VIZ Media via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review All opinions expressed here are my own Paperback Tiger \u0026 Bunny: The Beginning, Vol. 2: Side BRating 4 5 A Great Way to Re Acquaint Yourself with the Superheros of SternBildViz seems to have invested heavily in the Tiger Bunny franchise and with good reason The popular series has managed to cultivate an audience on both sides of the Pacific and I m happy to count myself among that number although it did take a couple volumes before I was completely on board With the release of a movie version that basically retells the origin of the dysfunctional duo for those who missed it in the serialized anime or the original manga it was no real surprise to see this two volume set come out the manga adaptation of the movie adaptation of the manga adaptation of the anime series Whew This is a jumping on point for beginners only Longtime fans of the series won t see much new ground broken here although collectors and completists will likely want the volumes for their bookshelves. Tiger and bunny season 2 Read More Paperback This is a review of both issues of Tiger Bunny The BeginningI want to preface my review with the fact that I absolutely adore Tiger Bunny It is one of my top favorite anime and to this day it still holds a special place in my hear My fried rice is still salty from my tears That said I really don t think the Tiger Bunny The Beginning manga are worth the purchase The manga are just an adaption of the animated film by the same name but they manage to be a worse version of the film due to the lack of thematic framing present in the film and they also seem to take a slightly mean spirited view of the cast in relation to Kotetsu Tiger Bunny The Beginning starts out as essentially a retelling of the introduction episodes of the show getting audiences acquainted with Kotetsu Barnaby and the other heroes of Stern Bild before introducing a new story that is set early on in the series As a recap it is decent This is common with a lot of anime films since the goal is to attract new audiences using a shorter format and also profit off of the spectacle surrounding films by giving fans new content to latch onto The new story follows a thief named Robin Baxter an illusive thief that has escaped capture due to his unique NEXT ability The heroes of Stern Bild are ordered to try and capture Robin as it would increase the ratings of their TV show but find themselves unable to apprehend him In the course of these two manga Kotetsu tries to bring everybody together so they can get to know each other better but the heroes are too into their rivalries against each other to bring themselves to play nice with each other They also find Kotetsu pathetic due to being a washed up hero so nobody really takes him seriously. Tiger and bunny the rising In the film their apprehensiveness to get along isn t depicted in an overly cruel manner though they still view Kotetsu as an idiot wash up The manga seems to amplify this and makes the other heroes seem callous and cold It also makes Barnaby seem completely anti social rather than just focused and distant like in the film and series Barnaby is also weirdly harsh to Kotetsu than in the film and it misses out on subtle details that show Barnaby is still always paying attention regardless of his feelings toward Kotetsu. Tiger and bunny pepsi girl As the story progresses in the film Kotetsu s relationship with Barnaby is contrasted to his relationship with his dead wife Tomoe Much of this is missing from the manga leaving the nuanced interpretation of Kotetsu s struggles of learning to let go of the past and learn how to trust in his partner elsewhere making this manga less interesting to me. Tigernu business ii As a new story it s weak It doesn t add much to the overall story of the series and the manga doesn t really sell the conflict with Robin as well as the film does I appreciate VIZ taking the time to translate these manga or not There is plenty of story available for a follow up movie Having read the first three volumes of the manga but not having seen the movie I wasn t particularly impressed with this novelization I would have to say it is probably best for someone who hasn t seen the movie and perhaps hasn t even read the mangas a first introduction to Tiger Bunny if you will That or diehard fans who must have any and everything Tiger and Bunny Paperback Plot Art Characters Average 3. Tiger and bunny season 2 Instead of revising episodes from the anime this volume focuses on a new villain with the ability to switch locations with another person While the premise of it is nice I find it quite poorly executed We hear all about this villain about how he is this great robber that nobody has been able to catch so far how he has stolen this incredibly important statue and then it s never brought up again. Tiger and bunny virgil The majority of this volume consists of the heroes chasing the villain in an endless game of mouse and cat with Barnaby shitting on Kotetsu the entire time mainly for no reason at all and everyone being incredibly and unnecessarily rude to each other which is very uncharacteristic for the cast The only truly good scene was where Barnaby decides to rescue the father after seeing his son crying as it added a nice touch to Barnaby s character As for the rest it put me in the same depressed mood as Kotetsu s throughout this volume especially since the art is as crappy as in the first volume and has not improved at all. Tiger and bunny op 2 Overall I would not recommend this to anyone who is not a die hard fan of this series since it is not needed to understand the rest of the story and doesn t add anything to it either Paperback Hmm I don t know if it s because I m the least familiar with this storyline or if I just like it the least This is the second half of the manga adaptation of the first Tiger Bunny movie As I said in my previous review the movie s essentially a revised version of the first couple episodes of the anime with an additional villain thrown in to extend its length I don t really like the extra villain I guess that s part of why I ve only watched that movie once so far vs the multiple rewatches of the rest The storyline s a little hard to follow in the manga partly because it s much harder to read superpower where you can change places with someone when it s on a static black and white page with WHOOSH and SWISH instead of actual animation But mostly I don t like how mean everyone is in this I don t remember it being quite that bad in the movie none of the heroes seem to get along at all and Barnaby is actually pretty unlikable which is a rough thing to do to one of your main characters The payoff isn t all that satisfying as a result This one didn t quite translate well enough to the page Since it s a pretty action based storyline I think it would ve benefitted from edits especially seeing of Barnaby s thought process to give his actions meaning It was a nice touch to have him save the reckless father once he saw that there was a kid in the picture especially when he followed that with a plea to stay with your son you re the only father he s got and you mean a lot to him That s the Barnaby the anime made me immediately care about It doesn t feel like we got enough of that Barnaby in this book Paperback
