Juniper berries I had no idea what to expect going into Juniper Short story collections tend to turn me off if for no other reason than the stories themselves offer very little chance for us to connect with the characters in them It s a testament to Kollef s skill then that she packs even some of the book s shorter pieces with enough characterization and development that we re not left entirely wanting And I say entirely because that s perhaps this book of short stories only shortcoming the stories themselves are over too quickly From a narrative perspective they all work.

Juniper berries So Juniper is a short story with a bunch of short stories in it Hannah Kollef wrote the amazing story of Path of Needles and I loved it so I was super excited when she messaged me asking if I wanted to read Juniper On the downside Juniper was not really my thing Lots of poetry and a lot of short stories I didn t really understand the point to That was kind of disappointing for me but I know a lot of people are into that so if you like poetry and short stories and fiction this would be the book for you. Juniper books middlemarch To be honest I wasn t completely sure what to expect I m on the fence about short stories it is really hard to give enough information that the story makes sense but not so much that it is simply pages of exposition and description Luckily I didn t have to worry about that here at all Each of the individual stories and they are for the most part not related to one another excepting only the two within the Paths series dropped you into the middle of that particular world with just enough background to have everything make sense yet remain interesting.
