Penguin Young Readers Level 2 Woodward and McTwee are the silliest of friends A bird and a hippopotamus could not be different but they love playing hide and seek and pulling pranks on each other Join Woodward and McTwee for a ton of fun with two hilarious stories Woodward and McTwee Penguin Young Readers Level 2 This is a fun pair of stories featuring a hippo and a bird Woodward and McTwee Woodward is a bit naive and slowish and McTwee is the clever kinda snarky one You see mismatched pairs of pals in many if not most beginning readers but what I like about this duo is that Woodward the hippo gets his own back in both stories Sure McTwee might be having a little fun at his expense but ask yourself Which character is the one to fall down a hole or get splatted That s right McTwee Woodward isn t as clueless as he first appears I think progressing readers will love the humor in this one I ve seen this compared to Mo Willems Elephant and Piggie books which I also love But I think close readers will spot a whole different dynamic and style of humor Does anybody have a spatula And if you haven t read Jonathan Fenske s LOVE IS IN THE AIR another Penguin Young Readers Level 2 book from 2012 do it now It s so original and lovely 9780448479927 Kinda lame I was attracted to this easy reader title because I assumed it would be a great read alike to other friendship based series like Elephant and Piggie and George and Martha but after reading it I was let down.
