Why is the sea scary There are things in this novel I wish I could forget especially when the breeze turns towards the land and carries the unmistakeable tang of salt and something Science Science Fiction Horror Henry Gee has produced a unique blend of gothick horror hard science fiction and detective story Hugely enjoyable Science Science Fiction Horror Beautiful vivid writing and a gripping story I love weird fiction the gothic elements mad scientists all blended together into a crime story I feel I ve just finished reading something really unique and strongly recommend it Science Science Fiction Horror By The Sea is the first book I ve read on Kindle and I absolutely loved everything about it. By the seaside ringtone Henry Gee manages to combine Gothic horror with crime to produce a fast paced story in a vivid setting He has a brilliant way with words and is not afraid to use them in all their richness He reminded me of a less verbose version of H. By the sea science fiction story Lovecraft but with not the same verbosity His characterisation is excellent both of the goodies and baddies I very much hope he resurrects DI Sheepwool and Ds Fitch for a future novel I m now keeping my fingers crossed that one of the big fiction publishers discover Henry Gee as his writing deserves wide acclaim Science Science Fiction Horror
