The arrival jeremy renner Both books are quite similar in plot I found it difficult to review The Good Man without comparing it to Needful Things if you ve ever read a Stephen King novel then you know his books are meticulously detailed The Good Man had me hooked from the beginning but as things began to get really interesting the story felt rushed When the townspeople begin to bargain with the shop keeper Mr Burr things become a bit hard to follow Deals are made and demands are carried out with absolutely no backstory Any backstory is limited to both the protagonist and antagonist and even these are limited We never get to know the townspeople and learn why they are willing to commit violent crimes in exchange for Mr Burr s items of interest But again I find myself comparing it to Needful Things whose characters can sometimes seem a little too detailed If you ve ever wanted to try reading Stephen King but thought His books are just too long for me Scroggins The Good Man may be the book for you Kindle Edition
